Aktifitas penambangan material galian C di Kecamatan Batang Alai Selatan telah menyebabkan pencemaran udara berupa dispersi debu yang diakibatkan dari jalan yang dilintasi kendaraan angkutan. Masyarakat disekitar jalur angkutan juga merasakan keluhan berupa gangguan penglihatan , pernafasan dan pengotoran-pengotoran dilingkungan.
Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui kadar debu jatuh di permukiman sekitar jalur angkut material galian C. Desain penelitian ini adalah Observasional dengan menggunakan Time Series Design. Dilakukan pengukuran kadar debu jatuh menggunakan alat Dustfall Collector pada 6 titik disepanjang jalur angkutan material galian C, pengambilan sampel kadar debu jatuh dilakukan selama 1 bulan/30 hari yang diambil setiap 10 hari sekali.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar debu jatuh disemua titik telah melebihi baku mutu udara ambien nasional menurut PP RI Nomor 41 Tahun 1999, kadar debu berkisar 10,53 ton/km2/bulan sampai dengan 126,05 ton/km2/bulan. Terdapat kecenderungan bahwa kadar debu dipengaruhi oleh curah hujan. Pada saat hujan curah hujan tinggi kadar debu menurun begitu juga sebaliknya curah hujan rendah kadar debu meningkat. Saran untuk perusahaan diharapkan peduli terhadap lingkungan dan melakukan upaya pengelolaan lingkungan berupa penyiraman pada badan jalan.
Dalam penelitian ini terbukti bahwa aktifitas angkutan material galian C telah menyebabkan perncemaran udara berupa debu di permukiman jalur angkutan. Untuk mengetahui dampak lebih jauh terhadap kesehatan akibat debu perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih jauh dengan variasi parameter yang lebih spesifik misal debu berukuran kecil seperti PM10, PM2,5 dan pengukuran efek terhadap paru-paru atau pernafasan masyarakat yang bermukim disekitar jalur angkutan material galian C.

The mining activity of C excavated material in the Batang Alai Selatan District has caused air pollution in the form of dispersion of dust caused from the road that is crossed by transport vehicles. Communities around the transport lane also feel complaints in the form of visual disturbances, breathing and impurities in the environment.
The purpose of this study was to find out the level of dust falling in the settlements around the transport material of the C excavated material. The design of this study was Observational using Time Series Design. Measurements of falling dust levels wereusing thetool carried outDustfall Collector at 6 points along the transport path of C excavated material, sampling of falling dust levels was carried out for 1 month / 30 days taken every 10 days.
The results showed that dust levels fell in all points had exceeded the national ambient air quality standard according to PP RI Number 41 of 1999, dust levels ranged from 10.53 tons / km2/ month up to 126.05 tons / km2/ month. There is a tendency that dust levels are affected by rainfall. When rain falls high rainfall the dust level decreases as well as vice versa low rainfall dust levels increase. Suggestions for companies are expected to care about the environment and make environmental management efforts in the form of watering the road.
In this study it was proven that the activity of transporting C excavated material had caused air pollution in the form of dust in the transport lane settlement. To find out more about the health effects of dust, further research needs to be done with more specific variations in parameters such as small dust such as PM10, PM2.5 and measuring the effect on lung or respiratory communities that live around the C-excavated material transport lines.
