Antibakteri terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli

Tanaman Kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata L.) merupakan tanaman semak
yang dapat dibuat menjadi minyak atsiri. Minyak atsiri mempunyai senyawa
kimia yang bermanfaat sebagai antibakteri yaitu α-pinene, β-pinene, germacrene,
β-copaen-4α-ol, (E)- caryophyllene, and geijerene/pregeijerene. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas minyak atsiri daun kirinyuh (Chromolaena
odorata L.). Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperiment laboratorium dengan
rancangan Posttest Only Control Group Design. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 50
sampel terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dengan konsentrasi 10uL, 15uL, 20uL, 25uL dan
30uL dengan 5 pengulangan. Uji efektivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode
difusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan zona hambat bakteri Staphylococcus aureus
pada konsentrasi 10uL (9,4mm), 15uL (10,8mm), 20uL (11,6mm), 25uL (13mm)
dan 30uL (14,4mm) berdasarkan uji Kruskal wallis nilai signifikasi < α (< 0,05)
artinya ada pengaruh pada penambahan konsentrasi minyak atsiri daun kirinyuh
terhadap daya hambat, memiliki efektivitas terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus
aureus yang menunjukkan konsentrasi tertinggi 30uL diameter 14,4mm dengan
persentase (63%). Sedangkan bakteri Escherichia coli pada konsentrasi 10uL
(11,6mm), 15uL (12,8mm), 20uL (14mm), 25uL (14,8mm) dan 30uL (15,8mm)
berdasarkan uji One-Way Anova nilai signifikasi P < α (0.000 < 0,05) artinya ada
pengaruh pada penambahan konsentrasi minyak atsiri daun kirinyuh terhadap
daya hambat, memiliki efektivitas terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli
menunjukkan konsentrasi tertinggi 30uL diameter 15,8mm dengan persentase
(69%). Tanaman kirinyuh yang diolah menjadi minyak atsiri bermanfaat sebagai
antibakteri yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat.

The Effectiveness of Kirinyuh Leaf Essential oil (Chromolaena odorata L.) as an
Antibacterial Against Bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli

Kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata L.) is a bush that can be made into essential
oils. Essential oils have chemical compounds that are useful as antibacterials,
namely α-pinene, β-pinene, germacrene, β-copaen-4α-ol, (E) - caryophyllene, and
geijerene / pregeijerene. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of
kirinyuh leaf essential oil (Chromolaena odorata L.). This type of research is a
laboratory experiment with a Posttest Only Control Group Design. The number
of samples was 50 samples consisting of 5 treatments with concentrations of
10uL, 15uL, 20uL, 25uL and 30uL with 5 repetitions of Staphylococcus aureus
and Escherichia coli bacteria. The antibacterial effectiveness test was carried out
by the diffusion method. The results showed the inhibition zone of
Staphylococcus aureus bacteria at concentrations of 10uL (9.4mm), 15uL
(10.8mm), 20uL (11.6mm), 25uL (13mm) and 30uL (14.4mm) based on the
Kruskal wallis test of significance values. <α (<0.05) means that there is an
effect on increasing the concentration of kirinyuh leaf essential oil on inhibition,
has effectiveness against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria which shows the highest
concentration of 30uL with a diameter of 14.4mm with a percentage (63%).
Meanwhile, Escherichia coli at concentrations of 10uL (11.6mm), 15uL
(12.8mm), 20uL (14mm), 25uL (14.8mm) and 30uL (15.8mm) based on the OneWay Anova test, the significance value of P <α ( 0.000 <0.05) means that there is
an effect on the addition of the essential oil concentration of kirinyuh leaves on
inhibition, has effectiveness against the bacteria Escherichia coli shows the
highest concentration of 30uL with a diameter of 15.8mm with a percentage
(69%). The kirinyuh plant which is processed into essential oil is useful as an
antibacterial which can be used by the community.
