Only With Control Group Design.
ABSTRACT Comparison of High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) Levels in Immediate Serum with 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours Delay Serum.

Optimal levels of High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) in the blood are protective against heart disease, a decrease in HDL levels can increase the risk of heart disease. HDL cholesterol checks can sometimes not be done immediately or forced to be postponed if there are obstacles during the examination. If the HDL cholesterol check process is delayed there will be changes in lipoprotein fractions. This study aims to determine differences in cholesterol levels of High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) in serum immediately with serum delay of 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours. This research is a quasi experiment, the design used is Postest Only With Control Group Design. The results of HDL cholesterol tests carried out showed the average HDL cholesterol levels of serum samples that had been centrifuged and delayed at room temperature at 0 hour (without delay), 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours in a row that is 47.46 mg / dl, 44.36 mg / dl, 40.58 mg / dl, 36.65 mg / dl. Based on the Anova Repeated Measures test results obtained significance = 0,000 (<0.05) which indicates a significant difference between HDL cholesterol levels checked immediately with those delayed by 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours. As for suggestions for further researchers can use serum in hospitalized menopausal female patients who have a risk of coronary heart disease.
Keywords : High Density Lipoprotein (HDL), serum and time delay.
