Anemia adalah keadaan dimana tubuh memiliki jumlah sel darah merah (eritrosit) yang terlalu sedikit. Faktor yang berhubungan dengan pembentukan sel darah merah yaitu asam amino, zat besi, tembaga, piridoksin, kobalt, vitamin B12, dan asam folat. Kelakai (Stenochlaena palustris) dikenal masyarakat Kalimantan sebagai tumbuhan obat karena memiliki kandungan fenol, flavonoid, steroid dan alkaloid serta beberapa mineral seperti Ca dan zat besi (Fe). Kandungan zat besi (Fe) tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai obat alternatif dalam meningkatkan jumlah eritrosit. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh ekstrak tumbuhan kelakai terhadap jumlah eritrosit pada mencit. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan quasi experiment dan rancangan penelitian pretest-posttest with control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata jumlah sel eritrosit sebelum pemberian ekstrak kelakai konsentrasi 0% (kontrol) sebesar 8.99 10^6/uL, 2% sebesar 9.84 10^6/uL, 4% sebesar 9.08 10^6/uL, 6% sebesar 9.60 10^6/uL, 8% sebesar 10.49 10^6/uL, dan 10% sebesar 8.67 10^6/uL. Sedangkan, nilai rata-rata jumlah sel eritrosit sesudah pemberian ekstrak kelakai konsentrasi 0% (kontrol) sebesar 9.03 10^6/uL, 2% sebesar 10.00 10^6/uL, 4% sebesar 9.34 10^6/uL, 6% sebesar 10.01 10^6/uL, 8% sebesar 11.33 10^6/uL, dan 10% sebesar 9.87 10^6/uL. Berdasarkan uji statistik ANOVA didapatkan nilai probabilitas signifikasi pada konsentrasi ekstrak kelakai terhadap jumlah eritrosit adalah 0.00, karena nilai signifikasi kurang dari 0.05 maka dapat disimpulkan ada pengaruh ekstrak kelakai terhadap jumlah eritrosit. Perlu dilakukan penelitian lanjutan dengan konsentrasi ekstrak tumbuhan kelakai yang lebih tinggi dan menggunakan parameter lain seperti leukosit dan trombosit.

Effect of Kelakai (Stenochlaena palustris) Extracts on the Amount of Erythrocytes in Mice

Anemia is a condition where the body has too few red blood cells (erythrocytes). Factors related to red blood cell formation are amino acids, zinc, copper, pyridoxine, cobalt, vitamin B12, and folic acid. Kelakai (Stenochlaena palustris) is known by the Kalimantan community as a medicinal plant because it contains phenols, flavonoids, steroids and alkaloids as well as several minerals such as Ca and zinc (Fe). The content of zinc (Fe) can be used as an alternative medicine in increasing the number of erythrocytes. The aim of this research is to find out whether there is an effect of kelakai extracts on the number of erythrocytes in mice. The type of research used is quasi experiment and pretest-posttest with control group design. The results showed an average value of erythrocyte cell number before administration of the extract concentration 0% (control) of 8.99 10^6/uL, 2% at 9.84 10^6/uL, 4% at 9.08 10^6/uL, 6% at 9.60 10^6/uL, 8% at 10.49 10^6/uL, and 10% at 8.67 10^6/uL. Meanwhile, the average value of the number of erythrocyte cells after administration of the extract concentration 0% (control) was 9.03 10^6/uL, 2% was 10.00 10^6/uL, 4% was 9.34 10^6/uL, 6% was 10.01 10^6/uL, 8% at 11.33 10^6/uL, and 10% at 9.87 10^6/uL. Based on ANOVA statistical test, the probability probability value of the concentration of the extracts used to the number of erythrocytes is 0.00, because the significance value is less than 0.05, it can be concluded that there is an effect of kelakai extracts on the number of erythrocytes. Further research is needed with higher concentrations of kelakai extracts and using other parameters such as leukocytes and platelets.
