Penyakit Tuberkulosis masih menempati peringkat ke-10 penyebab kematian tertinggi didunia. Pemeriksaan mikroskopis dahak merupakan pemeriksaan yang paling efisien, bersifat spesifik dan dapat dilaksanakan tetapi rentan terjadi kesalahan oleh karena itu diperlukan hasil pemeriksaan sediaan BTA yang lebih akurat dengan memperhatikan kualitas sediaan BTA, sediaan yang berkualitas harus memperhatikan 6 unsur yaitu, kualitas spesimen, kerataan, pewarnaan, ukuran, kebersihan, dan ketebalan yang sesuai standar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kualitas sediaan BTA dengan hasil pemeriksaan BTA. Sampel yang digunakan sampel sputum positif TB, yang mukopurulen berwarna kuning kehijauan. Metode penelitian ini adalah Quasi Experiment dengan rancangan Posttest Only Control Group Design. Hasil pemeriksaan mikroskopis BTA pada sediaan yang sesuai standar +1, sediaan yang kerataan, ukuranya dan ketebalanya tidak standar hasil BTA nya adalah scanty (ditemukan BTA namun tidak masuk dalam katagori +1). Pada penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ada hubungan kualitas sediaan BTA dan hasil pemeriksaan BTA, dari uji statistik Rank Spearman di dapatkan nilai P = 0,004 < α (0,005). Dalam penelitian ini dapat dilihat bahwa penurunan nilai positif BTA dapat terjadi pada sediaan BTA yang ukuran, kerataan, dan ketebelannya tidak sesuai, maka dari itu hendaknya para petugas laboratorium yang bertugas untuk pembuatan sediaan BTA lebih memperhatikan kualitas sediaan BTA dengan menerapkan enam kriteria sediaan standar berkualitas.

ABSTRACT THE QUALITY CORRELATION OF ACID FAST BACTERIA (AFB), ON AFB EXAMINATION RESULTS

Tuberculosis is still ranked as the 10th highest cause of death in the world. Sputum microscopic examination is the most efficient, specific and workable examination but prone to errors because it requires more accurate results of AFB preparation by considering AFB preparation quality, quality preparations must pay attention to 6 elements, namely, specimen quality, flatness, staining , size, cleanliness and thickness according to the standard. This study aims to determine the relationship of AFB preparation quality with the results of AFB examination. The samples used were positive TB sputum samples, the mucopurulent was greenish yellow. The method of this research is Quasi Experiment with the design of Posttest Only Control Group Design. The results of microscopic smear examination on preparations that matched the standard +1, preparations that are even, the size and thickness are not the standard results of the AFB are scanty (AFB found but not in the +1 category). In this study it was shown that there was a correlation between the quality of AFB preparation and the results of AFB examination, from the Rank Spearman statistical test, it was obtained P value = 0.004 <α (0.005). In this study, it can be seen that the decline in positive AFB values can occur in AFB preparations whose size, flatness and uniformity are not suitable, therefore laboratory officers tasked with making smear preparations pay more attention to the quality of AFB preparations by applying six criteria of quality standard preparation .
