Penggunaan bahan kimia sebagai larvasida dapat menimbulkan resistensi, masalah kesehatan, dan masalah lingkungan. Untuk mengurangi efek penggunaan bahan kimia, diperlukan alternatif pengendalian vektor DBD secara alamiah. Bawang putih mengandung senyawa seperti Allicin dan daun jambu biji mengandung senyawa seperti saponin dan flavonoid. Kandungan tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai larvasida alami. Tujuan penelitian ini, untuk mengetahui perbandingan ekstrak air bawang putih (Allium sativum, L.) dengan ekstrak air daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava L.) terhadap kematian larva Aedes aegypti. Metode penelitian true experiment dengan rancangan Posttest Only With Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian didapatkan kematian larva dari ekstrak air bawang putih adalah kontrol negatif (0%), kontrol positif (100%), perlakuan konsentrasi 1% (28,8%), 3% (71,2%), 5% (87,2%), 10% (100%), 15% (100%), 20% (100%), 25% (100%), 30% (100%), 50% (100%), hasil uji Kruskall-Wallis nilai sig.= 0,002. Sedangkan Ekstrak air daun jambu biji adalah kontrol negatif (0%), kontrol positif (100%), perlakuan konsentrasi 1% (0%), 3% (0%), 5% (0%), 10% (0%), 15% (0%), 20% (1,6%), 25% (4,8%), 30% (10,4%), 50% (21,6%), hasil uji Kruskall-Wallis nilai sig.=0,003. Hasil menunjukkan ekstrak air bawang putih dan ekstrak air daun jambu biji memiliki pengaruh terhadap kematian larva (P<0,05). Berdasarkan uji Mann-Whitney nilai signifikasinya <0,001 (P<0,05), ada perbedaan signifikan antara perlakuan ekstrak air bawang putih dan ekstrak air daun jambu biji terhadap kematian larva Aedes aegypti. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah perlakuan ekstrak air bawang putih mampu menyebabkan kematian yang lebih besar dibandingkan ekstrak air daun jambu biji. Peneliti selanjutnya disarankan untuk melakukan penelitian menggunakan spesies uji dan metode ekstraksi yang berbeda.

Comparison of Garlic Water Extract (Allium sativum L.) with Guava Leaf Extract (Psidium guajava L.) Against Mortality of Aedes aegypti Larvae

The used of chemicals as larvacidel may causing resistance, health problem, and environment problem. To reduce effect ofuse chemicals, natural alternative dengue fever vector control is needed. Garlic contains compounds such as Allicin and guava leave contain compounds such as saponin and flavonoid. This content can be used as natural larvacide. Purpose of this study, to compare the water extract of garlic (Allium sativum, L.) with water extract of guava leave (Psidium guajava L.) to mortality of Aedes aegypti larvae. The results showed that garlic water extract and water extract of guava leaves had an influence on larval mortality (P <0.05). Based on the MannWhitney test the significance value was <0.001 (P <0.05), there was a significant difference between the treatment of garlic water extract and guava leaf water extract onmortality of Aedes aegypti larvae. The conclusion of this study is that the treatment of garlic water extract can cause greater mortality than the extract of guava leaf water. Further researchers are advised to conduct research using different species and extraction method.
