Data from the Lok Health Center for diarrhea cases in 2019 was 236 cases, there was a
decrease in diarrhea data obtained in 2020 as many as 55 cases and in 2021 diarrhea data as
many as 55 cases, but experienced an increase again in 2022 diarrhea data as many as 107
cases and in 2023 as many as 198 case. There were 49 cases of diarrhea from January to May
2024 and ranked 19th out of the 20 most common diseases at the Lok Batu Community Health
Center. One of the causes of diarrhea is contamination of Escherichia coli bacteria in clean
water sources.
This research method is an analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach. The
population of the case group was 49 people. The population of the control group was 5,163
people. The number of control samples and case samples with a ratio of 1: 1 in this study was
49 people. The control sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. The research
instrument used interviews and observation sheets. The statistical test used Chi Square Test.
The results showed that the examination of E. Coli bacteria in the case group did not
meet the requirements for 47 respondents (95.9%) and met the requirements for 2 respondents
(4.1%). The examination of E. coli bacteria in the control group met the requirements for 36
respondents (73.5%) and did not meet the requirements for 13 respondents (26.5%). The use of
water in the case group mostly did not use Pamsimas water facilities for 45 respondents
(91.8%) and used Pamsimas for 4 respondents (8.2%). In the control group, most respondents
used PAMSIMAS water facilities as many as 46 respondents (93.9%) and did not use
PAMSIMAS as many as 3 respondents (6.1%). The incidence of diarrhea showed no diarrhea as
many as 49 respondents (50.0%) and respondents suffered from diarrhea as many as 49
respondents (50.0%). There is a relationship between the use of PAMSIMAS water facilities and
the incidence of diarrhea in the Lok Batu Health Center UPTD Work Area in 2024 with a p-
value = 0.00
For health workers, it is hoped that they will increase counseling on the use of qualified
PAMSIMAS water to avoid diarrhea.
