WHO merekomendasikan pembacaan sediaan Kato Katz 30 hingga 60 menit
setelah sediaan disiapkan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbandingan
jumlah telur Soil Transmitted Helminth metode Kato Katz berdasarkan lama waktu
(α<0,05). Saran untuk peneliti selanjutnya melakukan penelitian perbandingan
jumlah telur cacing menggunakan metode selain Kato Katz.

Based on the Length of Time to Read the Preparation

Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) infection is an infection caused by worm
parasites with types including Trichuris trichiura, Ascaris lumbricoides,
Ancylostoma duodenale, and Necator americanus. Laboratory examination of feces
is performed to find parasite eggs microscopically. Kato Katz is one of the stool
examination methods that can be used in Indonesia. WHO recommends reading the
Kato Katz preparation 30 to 60 minutes after the preparation is prepared. The
purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of the number of eggs of the
Kato Katz method Soil Transmitted Helminth based on the length of reading time
of the preparation, namely 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes. This study was conducted
using the Quasy Experimental method and Cross Sectional design, collecting
positive stool samples with a total of 6 repetitions and 4 treatments. The results in
this study obtained the number of STH worm eggs at 30, 45, 60, and 90 minutes
with an average of 32 / gr, 56 / gr, 96 / gr, and 52 / gr. At minutes 30, 45 and 60
there was an increase and at minute 90 there was a decrease in the number of worm
eggs. Based on the results of the Kruskal wallis test, there is a difference between
the number of STH eggs by the Kato Katz method and the length of reading time
of the preparation with a value of α=0.014 (α<0.05). Suggestions for researchers to
further conduct a comparative study of the number of worm eggs using methods
other than Kato Katz.
