WHO Z-Score.
Teknik Pengambilan Purposive Sampling sebanyak 32 siswa. Data kecacingan
digunakan yaitu feses segar.
gizi hanya berdasarkan pengukuran Z-Score (antropometri) saja.

ABSTRACT
Correlation of Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) Infection with Z-Score in
Elementary School Children in the Working Area of Karang Intan I Health
Center

Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) infection is one of the most common
diseases worldwide. Primary school children are very vulnerable to helminthiasis
infection, which if left unchecked can lead to malnutrition and impaired physical
growth. The method of determining nutritional status that is often used is the
WHO Z-Score interpretation. The purpose of this study was to determine the
relationship between STH helminthiasis infection and Z-Score in elementary
school children in the Karang Intan I Health Center Working Area. This type of
research is an Analytical Survey with a cross sectional research design, the
population was 68 students with a Purposive Sampling Technique of 32 students.
Data on helminthiasis is obtained from microscopic examination of worm eggs by
the Direct method, the specimen used is fresh feces. Z-Score data obtained from
the measurement of height (m) & weight (Kg) of respondents, calculation formula
and Z-Score table. The results of microscopic examination of helminthiasis
showed that 3 students (9.3%) were infected with STH eggs consisting of Ascaris
lumbricoides and Trichuris trichiura eggs and 29 students (90.7%) were not found
microscopic eggs, larvae or adult STH worms. Z-Score data obtained 8 (25%)
students in the undernourished category, 19 (59.4%) students in the good nutrition
category, 3 (9.4%) students in the overnourished category, and 2 students in the
obese category (6.2%). Chi-Square test results show a value (p-value 0.056) >
(0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there is no significant relationship
between Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) infection and Z-Score in elementary
school children. Suggestions for further research are to increase the number of
samples and not only assess nutritional status based on Z-Score (anthropometric)
measurements alone.
