diantaranya 1 responden kadar CRP 12 mg/L (14%), 2 responden kadar CRP 24 mg/L

ABSTRACT

Correlation of C-Reactive Protein (CRP) Levels with Monocyte Counts in
Pulmonary Tuberculosis Patients at Banjarbaru Regional Health Centers

Researcher : Hatimah Nurhanida

Tuberculosis (TB) is a health problem that is still widely found. Tuberculosis
is caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. If it enters the body it causes
inflammation. The inflammatory response in the body can be diagnosed by
examining C-Reactive Protein (CRP) and examining the number of monocyte cells as
an anti-infection immune response in a person's body. The aim of this study was to
determine the correlation between CRP levels and the number of monocytes in
pulmonary tuberculosis sufferers at the Banjarbaru area health center. The research
method used is analytical with a cross sectional research design. The research
population was pulmonary TB sufferers who were undergoing treatment at the
Cempaka Health Center and Landasan Ulin Health Center. The sample was taken
using a total sampling technique of 31 respondents. Based on the research results of
the 31 respondents examined, there were 7 respondents with positive CRP levels
(23%), including 1 respondent with a CRP level of 12 mg/L (14%), 2 respondents
with a CRP level of 24 mg/L (29%) and 4 respondents with a CRP level of CRP 96
mg/L (57%). The results of examining the number of monocytes in research subjects
showed that 21 respondents had a monocyte count of 2-8% (68%) and 10 respondents
had a monocyte count of >8% (32%). The Spearman test results showed a
significance value of 0.001 (<0.05), it was concluded that there was a significant
(meaningful) relationship between CRP levels and the number of monocyte cells. In
the next study, research was conducted to investigate the potential for external
influencing factors, such as nutritional status factors, on the relationship between
CRP levels and monocyte cell numbers in pulmonary tuberculosis sufferers.
