Streptococcus pyogenes dapat menyebabkan penyakit faringitis (radang
tenggorokan). Salah satu pengobatan alternatif dari bahan alami adalah limau kuit.
Limau kuit memiliki kandungan senyawa metabolit seperti flavonoid, alkaloid,
saponin, tanin dan triterpenoid yang berperan dalam menghambat pertumbuhan
bakteri bahkan membunuh bakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui
pengaruh air perasan limau kuit (Citrus hystrix) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan
bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes. Jenis penelitian ini adalah True eksperiment
dengan rancangan Posttest Only Control Group Design yang terdiri dari 5
perlakuan yaitu 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% dan 50% dan 2 Kontrol yaitu kontrol positif
dan kontrol negatif dengan 4x pengulangan. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode
dilusi cair untuk mengetahui nilai Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) dan
dilusi padat untuk mengetahui nilai Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimum (KBM). Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemeriksaan KHM terjadi pada kelomopk
perlakuan yaitu 10% dengan nilai rata-rata 0,026, 20% dengan nilai rata-rata
0,116, 30% dengan nilai rata-rata 0,116, 40% dengan nilai rata-rata 0,094 dan
50% dengan nilai rata-rata 0,129.Sedangkan pemeriksaan KBM terjadi pada
konsentrasi 30%, 40% dan 50%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemeriksaan KHM
pada konsentrasi 10% mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Streptococcus
pyogenes. Sedangkan pemeriksaan KBM pada konsentrasi 30% mampu
membunuh pertumbuhan bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes. Data dianalisis secara
statistik menggunakan uji Kruskal wallis didapatkan hasil pada pemeriksaan
KHM Ada Pengaruh air perasan limau kuit terhadap Konsentrasi Hambat
Minimum bakteri dan pemeriksaan KBM Ada Pengaruh air perasan limau kuit
jumlah koloni terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes.
Disarankan penelitian selanjutnya bisa mengganti dengan berbagai bahan
tradisional yang disebabkan oleh bakteri lain yang ada di kalangan masyarakat.

Streptococcus pyogenes can cause pharyngitis (inflammation of the throat). One
alternative treatment made from natural ingredients is lime. Limes contain
metabolite compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins and
triterpenoids which play a role in inhibiting bacterial growth and even killing
bacteria. This research aims to determine the effect of lime juice (Citrus hystrix)
in inhibiting the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria. This type of research
is a True Experiment with a Posttest Only Control Group Design consisting of 5
treatments, namely 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% and 2 controls, namely
positive control and negative control with 4 repetitions. The method used is the
liquid dilution method to determine the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC)
value and solid dilution to determine determine the Minimum Bactericidal
Concentration (MBC) value. The results showed that MIC examination occurred
in the treatment group, namely 10% with an average value of 0.026, 20% with an
average value of 0.116, 30% with an average value of 0.116, 40% with an average
value of 0.094 and 50% with The average value is 0.129. Meanwhile, MBC
examination occurs at concentrations of 30%, 40% and 50%. It can be concluded
that MIC examination at a concentration of 10% is able to inhibit the growth of
Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria. Meanwhile, MBC examination at a
concentration of 30% is able to kill the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes
bacteria. The data were analyzed statistically using the Kruskal Wallis test. It was
found that the results of the MIC examination showed that there was an influence
of lime juice on the minimum inhibitory concentration of bacteria and the MBC
examination. There was an influence of the number of colonies of lime juice on
the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria. It is recommended that further
research can replace various traditional ingredients which are caused by other
bacteria that exist among the community.
