ABSTRACT
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN AGE AND S1RBD IMMUNOGLOBULIN
G (IgG) ANTIBODY LEVELS AFTER COVID-19 BOOSTER VACCINATION
IN THE POLTEKKES ACADEMIC COMMUNITY OF THE MINISTRY OF
HEALTH BANJARMASIN

Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is currently a health problem in
the world and continues to increase globally. To reduce this case, governments
around the world carry out vaccination programs to reduce morbidity and mortality
to form antibodies. COVID-19 booster vaccination can increase and extend the
period of protection in the body. One factor that affects the immune response is age.
With age, the ability to produce antibodies decreases produced by B lymphocyte
cells and the affinity of antibodies to antigens in response to viruses. The purpose
of this study was to determine the relationship between age and antibody levels
after booster vaccination in the academic community of Poltekkes Kemenkes
Banjarmasin. This research is an analytical survey with a cross sectional design.
The population in this study is the entire academic community of the Banjarmasin
Ministry of Health Poltekkes who have carried out COVID-19 booster vaccinations.
The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique with a total of 30
respondents. S1RBD antibodies were tested with an ELISA tool and questionnaires
were used to collect research data. The age group is divided into 3, namely 17-25
years, 26-45 years, and 46-55 years. The highest antibody levels were found in the
age group of 17-25 years with an average of 270,355 IU / mL and the lowest
average was found in the age group of 46-55 years which was 197,245 IU / mL.
Based on the results of the analysis using Spearman's rho test, it shows that the
relationship between age and COVID-19 S1RBD IgG antibody levels (p = -0.575)
and (r = 0.001) which means that there is a strong relationship and a negative
relationship direction between variables. Suggestions for future researchers to be
able to identify in more detail the immune response after COVID-19 booster
vaccination in the elderly group.
