Air sungai Barito merupakan air gambut yang memiliki ciri-ciri dan karakteristik seperti pH yang rendah, berwarna merah kecoklatan, kandungan zat organik tinggi, kandungan kation rendah serta memiliki kandungan zat besi dan mangan yang tinggi. Menurut hasil survey yang pernah dilakukan di Kabupaten Barito Kuala, kualitas air termasuk ektrim masam yaitu pH <3,5. Selain itu air gambut yang ada disungai barito memiliki kadar zat besi (Fe) yang tinggi. Adapun tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perubahan kadar zat besi (Fe) dan pH air gambut menurut waktu di Desa Simpang Arja.
Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan desain penelitian observasi. Sampel penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik sistematik random sampling dan pengambilan sampel sesaat (Grab Sampel). Pengukuran dilakukan setiap tiga jam sekali di mulai jam 07.00 - 04.00 wita selama 2 kali.
Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan kadar zat besi menurut waktu pada hari I berkisar antara 0,72 mg/l – 2,39 mg/l dan pada hari II berkisar antara 0,89 mg/l – 2,02 mg/l. Kadar tertinggi zat besi pada jam 19.00 – 07.00 wita dan kadar terendah saat jam 10.00 – 16.00 wita. Selain zat besi, pH dan debit juga bervariasi menurut waktu. Berdasarkan pengukuran perubahan pH di hari I berkisar antara 5,4 – 6,8 dan di hari II antara 5,6 – 6,5 sedangkan debit dihari I berkisar antara 1,4 – 3,79 m3/detik dan di hari II antara 1,5 – 7,4 m3/detik. pH tertinggi saat jam 10.00 – 22.00 wita dan sata terendah jam 01.00 – 07.00 wita.
Penelitian ini memiliki keterbatasan karena dilakukan hanya 2 hari saja dan tidak membandingkan antara waktu yang berbeda, sehingga untuk lebih memperkuat hasil riset peneltian selanjutnya dapat melakukan pengambilan sampel dengan kondisi waktu dan titik sampel yang berbeda, menambahkan parameter pemeriksaan, dan melakukan pengolahan dengan menyesuaikan waktu.

Description Of Changes In Iron Levels And Ph Of Peat Water By Time In Barito Kuala District

Barito river water is peat water which has characteristics and characteristics such as low pH, brownish red color, high organic matter content, low cation content and high iron and manganese content. According to the results of a survey conducted in Barito Kuala Regency, the air quality is extremely acidic, with a pH <3.5. In addition, the peat water in the Barito River has high levels of iron (Fe). The purpose of this study was to determine changes in iron (Fe) levels and pH of peat water according to time in Simpang Arja Village.
This research is descriptive with an observational research design. The sample of this research was carried out using a systematic random sampling technique and instantaneous sampling (Grab Sample). Measurements were carried out every three hours starting at 07.00 - 04.00 WITA for 2 times.
The measurement results showed that iron levels according to time on the first day ranged from 0.72 mg/l – 2.39 mg/l and on the second day they ranged from 0.89 mg/l – 2.02 mg/l. The highest levels of iron are at 19.00 – 07.00 WITA and the lowest levels are at 10.00 – 16.00 WITA. Apart from iron, pH and discharge also vary with time. Based on the measurement of changes in pH on the first day it ranged from 5.4 - 6.8 and on the second day it was between 5.6 - 6.5 while the discharge on the first day ranged from 1.4 - 3.79 m3/second and on the second day it was between 1 ,5 – 7.4 m3/sec. The highest pH is at 10.00 – 22.00 WITA and the lowest is at 01.00 – 07.00 WITA.
This study has limitations because it was carried out only for 2 days and did not compare between different times, so to further strengthen the research results, further research can take samples with different time conditions and sample points, add inspection parameters, and carry out processing by adjusting the time.
