Limbah cair tahu mengandung polutan organik yang apabila tidak terurai dengan baik akan mengakibatkan meningkatnya kadar amoniak (NH3). Di Kota Banjarbaru terdapat industri tahu yang masih berskala home industry, yang membutuhkan instalasi pengolahan limbah yang alat-alatnya sederhana, biaya operasionalnya murah, memiliki nilai ekonomis dan ramah lingkungan. Peneliti melakukan penelitian menguji efektivitas metode venturi aerator dalam menurunkan kadar amoniak (NH3) pada limbah cair tahu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui efektivitas waktu kontak venturi aerator dalam menurunkan kadar amoniak pada limbah cair tahu.
Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental dan dengan desain penelitian Posttest Only Control Group Design dengan melakukan penelitian di industri tahu Analisis statistik menggunakan uji Normality Shapiro-wilk dan uji One Way Anova
Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa hasil uji Normality Shapiro-wilk diketahui nilai p > α 0,05 yang berarti data tentang kadar amoniak berdistribusi normal. Maka , data tersebut dapat dilakukan analisis lanjutan menggunakan uji One Way Anova. Penurunan kadar amoniak dengan variasi waktu kontak aerasi terjadi penurunan dari 118,75 mg/L menjadi 110,95 mg/L di waktu 30 menit.
Disarankan perlu adanya penambahan waktu kontak proses aerasi menggunakan metode venturi aerator untuk menurunkan kadar amoniak dan perlu menaikkan pH agar proses penurunan kadar amoniak menjadi lebih cepat.

Liquid waste tofu contains organic pollutants that if not decomposed properly will result in increased levels of ammonia (NH3).In Banjarbaru city there is a tofu industry that is still on the scale of home industry, which requires waste treatment plants whose tools are simple, low operational costs, have economic value and are environmentally friendly.Researchers conducted a study testing the effectiveness of venturi aerator method in lowering ammonia levels (NH3) in tofu liquid waste.The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of venturi aerator contact time in lowering ammonia levels in tofu liquid waste.
This research was experimental and the research design is Posttest Only Control Group Design by conducting research in the tofu industry. Statistical analysis uses the Shapiro-Wilk Normality test and One Way Anova test.
The results of statistical analysis showed that the results of the Shapiro-Wilk Normality test showed the value of p> α 0.05, which means that the data on ammonia levels were normally distributed. So, this data can be further analyzed using the One Way Anova test. The decrease in ammonia levels with variations in aeration contact time decreased from 118.75 mg / L to 110.95 mg / L in 30 minutes.
It is suggested that there should be an additional contact time for the aeration process using the venturi aerator method to reduce ammonia levels and need to increase the pH so that the process of reducing ammonia levels is faster.
