Trichophyton rubrum merupakan salah satu jamur patogen penyebab penyakit
dermatofitosis. Pengobatan penyakit tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan pemberian
obat antijamur. Salah satu tumbuhan yang memiliki potensi untuk digunakan
sebagai obat antijamur yaitu daun bandotan (Ageratum conyzoides L) karena
adanya kandungan senyawa metabolit seperti saponin, alkaloid dan flavonoid yang
berpotensi sebagai antijamur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas
ekstrak etanol daun bandotan (Ageratum conyzoides L) terhadap pertumbuhan
jamur Trichophyton rubrum. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Eksperimen semu (Quasi
eksperiment) dengan rancangan Posttest Only Control Group Design yang terdiri
dari 5 perlakuan dengan konsentrasi 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% dan 100% ekstrak etanol
daun bandotan dengan 4 kali pengulangan. Uji aktivitas antijamur dilakukan dengan
metode dilusi cair KHM dan KBM. Selanjutnya data dianalisis secara deskriptif.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa KHM ekstrak etanol daun bandotan terhadap
pertumbuhan jamur Trichophyton rubrum tidak dapat ditentukan karena warna dan
kekentalan sampel yang mengganggu dalam pengamatan. Sedangkan KBM terjadi
pada konsentrasi 40%. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa
ekstrak etanol daun bandotan efektif terhadap pertumbuhan jamur Trichophyton
rubrum terjadi pada konsentrasi 40%. Saran penelitian ini yaitu perlu penelitian
lebih lanjut mengenai efektivitas ekstrak etanol daun bandotan (Ageratum
conyzoides L) dengan konsentrasi yang lebih rendah dalam menghambat
pertumbuhan jamur Trichophyton rubrum.

Trichophyton rubrum is one of the pathogenic fungi that causes
dermatophytosis. Treatment of the disease can be done by administering antifungal
drugs. One of the plants that has the potential to be used as an antifungal drug is
bandotan leaves (Ageratum conyzoides L) because of the presence of metabolite
compounds such as saponins, alkaloids and flavonoids which have the potential to
be antifungal. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the ethanol extract
of bandotan leaves (Ageratum conyzoides L) on the growth of the fungus
Trichophyton rubrum. This type of research is a quasi experiment with a Posttest
Only Control Group Design consisting of 5 treatments with a concentration of 20%,
40%, 60%, 80% and 100% of the ethanol extract of bandotan leaves with 4
repetitions. The antifungal activity test was carried out using the MIC and MBC
liquid dilution methods. Furthermore, the data were analyzed descriptively. The
results showed that the MIC of the ethanol extract of bandotan leaves on the growth
of the Trichophyton rubrum fungus could not be determined because of the
disturbing color and thickness of the sample in the observation. Meanwhile, MBC
occurs at a concentration of 40%. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded
that the ethanol extract of bandotan leaves is effective against the growth of
Trichophyton rubrum fungi occurring at a concentration of 40%. The suggestion of
this research is that further research is needed on the effectiveness of the ethanol
extract of bandotan leaves (Ageratum conyzoides L) with a lower concentration in
inhibiting the growth of the Trichophyton rubrum fungus.
