Escherichia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus merupakan bakteri patogen
penyebab timbulnya penyakit infeksi. Pengobatan penyakit tersebut dapat
dilakukan dengan pemberian obat antibakteri. Eco Enzyme merupakan larutan hasil
fermentasi limbah kulit buah dengan penambahan air dan gula merah. Produk ini
memiliki sifat antibakteri karena didalamnya terkandung asam laktat dan asam
asetat serta senyawa metabolit seperti alkaloid, saponin, tanin, dan fenol. Penelitian
ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas Eco Enzyme sebagai antibakteri terhadap
pertumbuhan Escherichia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus. Jenis penelitian ini
adalah Quasi eksperiment dengan rancangan Posttest Only Control Group Design
yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan Eco Enzyme dengan konsentrasi 25%, 50%, 75%, dan
100% dengan 6 pengulangan. Uji aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode
difusi disk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata zona hambat dari variasi
konsentrasi berturut-turut terhadap Escherichia coli adalah 8 mm, 12 mm, 14 mm,
dan 17 mm. Sedangkan untuk Staphylooccus aureus berturut-turut 8 mm, 13 mm,
16 mm, dan 18 mm. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari uji One Way Anova dan
Regresi terhadap Escherichia coli adalah ada perbedaan bermakna (sig. 0.000)
dengan besar pengaruh sebesar 80.4% (R Square 0.804), demikian pada
Staphylococcus aureus terdapat perbedaan bermakna (sig 0.000) dengan besar
pengaruh sebesar 85.9% (R Square 0.859). Bagi peneliti selanjutnya disarankan
untuk melakukan penelitian Eco Enzyme lebih lanjut terhadap bakteri patogen lain
serta analisis mengenai isi kandungan larutan Eco Enzyme agar dapat diaplikasikan
secara maksimal.

Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus are pathogenic bacteria that
cause infectious disease. Treatment of the disease can be done by administering
antibacterial drugs. Eco Enzyme is a solution resulting from the fermentation of fruit
peel waste with the addition of water and brown sugar. This product has
antibacterial properties because it contains lactid acids and acetic acids as well as
metabolite compounds such a alkaloids, saponins, tannins, and phenols. This study
aims to determine the effectiveness of Eco Enzyme as an antibacterial against the
growth of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. This type of research Is a
Quasi-experimental Design with a Posttest Only Control Group Design consisting
of 4 Eco Enzyme treatments with a concentration of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%
with 6 repetitions. The antibacterial activity test was carried our by using the disk
diffusion method. The results showed that the mean inhibition zone of various
concentrations of Escherichia coli was 8 mm, 12 mm, 14 mm, and 17 mm,
respectively. As for Staphylococcus aureus, 8 mm, 13 mm, 16 mm, and 18 mm. the
conclusion obtained from the One Way Anova test and Regression to Escherichia
coli is that there is a significant difference (sig. 0.000) with a large effect 80.4% (R
Square 0.804), thus there is a significant difference in Staphylococcus aureus (sig.
0.000) with the magnitude of the effect. Equel to 85.9% ( R Square 0.859). Fur
future researchers, it is recommended to carry out out further Eco Enzyme research
on other phatogenic bacteria as well as an analysis of the contents of the Eco
Enzyme solution so that it can be used optimally.
