Pengolahan bijih plastik merupakan proses daur ulang sampah plastik menjadi bijih plastik yang bernilai ekonomis. Proses ini menggunakan mesin-mesin yang berpotensi menghasilkan bising melebihi nilai ambang batas dan menyebabkan penurunan fungsi pendengaran pada tenaga kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara paparan bising dengan ambang pendengaran tenaga kerja di pabrik pengolahan bijih plastik di Kecamatan Liang Anggang, Banjarbaru.
Penelitian ini bersifat observasional dengan desain potong lintang. Paparan bising dihitung berdasarkan intensitas/tekanan suara yang diterima tenaga kerja selama bekerja. Tekanan bising dinyatakan dalam bentuk dosis paparan dan tingkat kebisingan ekuivalen (Leq) dengan satuan dBA. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh tenaga kerja berjumlah 35 orang. Intensitas bising diukur menggunakan sound level meter sedangkan ambang pendengaran diukur menggunakan audiometer. Hubungan kedua variabel dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi spearman.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 51% tenaga kerja terpapar bising melebihi nilai ambang batas, dan sebanyak 25% mengalami kenaikan ambang dengar. Namun secara statistik tidak ditunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara ambang dengar tenaga kerja dengan paparan bising (p = 0,693), begitu pula halnya dengan masa kerja (p = 0,119). Di sisi lain, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara ambang dengar dengan usia tenaga kerja (p = 0,011).
Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kenaikan ambang dengar yang dialami oleh tenaga kerja lebih diakibatkan oleh faktor usia bukan akibat paparan bising dari mesin-mesin pabrik. Walaupun demikian upaya-upaya untuk pengendalian bising secara teknis, administratif, maupun alat pelindung pendengaran harus tetap dilaksanakan. Penelitian ini masih perlu pembuktian lebih lanjut sehingga disarankan untuk menambah jumlah sampel dan memasukkan beberapa kriteria inklusi pada penelitian selanjutnya.

Plastic ore processing is a process to recycle of plastic waste into plastic ores which economically valuable materials. These process uses some machines which be able to produce noise exceed the threshold limit value, and be able to decrease the hearing function of worker. This study aims to determine the relationship of noise exposure with the hearing threshold of worker at a plastic ore processing plant in Kecamatan Liang Anggang, Banjarbaru.
This research was observational with cross sectional design. Noise exposure was calculated based on the intensity/pressure of sound received by worker during work. Noise pressure was expressed in terms of exposure dose and noise level equivalent (Leq) with dBA units. The subjects were all of the worker as much as 35 people. The intensity of noise was measured by sound level meter while the hearing threshold of worker was measured by audiometer. The relationship of both variables was analyzed using the Spearman correlation test.
The results showed that as much as 51% of the worker were exposed by noise exceeded the threshold limit value, and as much as 25% had their hearing threshold increased. However, there was no significantly correlation statistically between the increased of hearing threshold of worker with noise exposure (p = 0.693), also the duration of work (p = 0.119). On the other hand, there was a significant correlation between hearing threshold and age of worker (p = 0.011).
It can be concluded that the increase of hearing threshold is more caused by age of worker not by noise exposure from the machines. Nevertheless, efforts to control noise by technically, administratively, and using of hearing protective equipment must still be done. This research still needs further evidence so it is recommended increasing the number of samples and including some inclusion criteria in the next similiar research.
