Keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja sangat diperlukan maka para pekerja harus membutuhkan alat pelindung diri (APD) ketika melakukan pekerjaan untuk mengurangi risiko kecelakaan kerja. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan rendahnya penggunaan APD pada pekerja dalam melakukan pekerjaan di tempat kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan dan perilaku kelompok petani sayuran tentang APD dalam penggunaan pestisida di Desa Kampung Baru Kecamatan Kusan Hilir Kabupaten Tanah Bumbu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif. Sampel melibatkan 22 petani di Kecamatan Kusan Hilir.
Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner dan lembar observasi. hasil penelitian untuk kuesioner menunjukan pengetahuan kelompok petani tentang APD yaitu katagori baik 7 orang (32%), katagori cukup 4 orang (18%), dan katagori kurang 11 orang (50%) . Perilaku kelompok petani tentang APD yaitu katagori baik 4 orang (18,18%), katagori cukup 7 orang (31,18%), dan katagori kurang 11 orang (50%). Hasil observasi untuk jenis APD (masker, sarung tangan, topi, pakain kerja, sepatu) yaitu kelengkapan pemakain APD kategori kurang ≤80%. Sedangkan hasil dari kesesuai penggunaan APD dari 4 item yaitu; item pertama tentang syarat APD yang sesuai (33%) sedangkan yang tidak sesuai (67%), item kedua tentang jenis APD yang sesuai (32%) sedangkan yang tidak sesuai (68%), item ketiga tentang penggunaan APD yang sesuai (47%) sedangkan yang tidak sesuai (53%), dan item keempat tentang kepatuhan penggunaan APD yang sesuai (45%) sedangkan yang tidak sesuai (55%).
Sebaiknya diadakan penyuluhan tentang penggunaan APD pada para pekerja dan diberi teguran atau sanksi yang tegas pada pekerja yang kurang patuh dalam menggunkan APD.

Occupational safety and health are very much needed soworkers must need personal protective equipment (PPE) when doing work to reduce the risk of work accidents. Several studies have shown the low use of PPE in workers doing work in the workplace. This study aims to find out the description of the knowledge and behavior of groups of vegetable farmers in using PPE in the use of pesticides in X Village Kusan Hilir District, Tanah Bumbu District. This type of research is descriptive. The sample involved 22 farmers in the Kusan Hilir District.
The research instrument used questionnaires and observation sheets. Data processing of the results of the study for the questionnaire showed the knowledge of farmers groups about PPE, namely 7 good categories (32%), enough categories of 4 people (18%), and less 11 categories of people (50%). Farmers group behavior about PPE are good 4 people (18.18%), 7 people have enough category (31.18%), and 11 people have less category (50%). The results of observations for the type of PPE are included in the category of less ≤80%. While the results of the suitability to use PPE of 4 items namely; the first item is about the terms of the appropriate PPE (33%) while the inappropriate PPE (67%), the second item is about the type of PPE that is suitable (32%) while the inappropriate PPE (68%), the third item is about the use of the appropriate PPE (47% ) while those that are not suitable (53%), and the fourth item regarding compliance with the use of appropriate PPE (45%) while those that are not (55%).
Counseling should be conducted about the use of PPE to workers and be given a reprimand or strict sanctions on workers who are not compliant in using PPE.
