Efektivitas Serbuk Ekstrak Daun Limau Kuit (Citrus hystrix D.C.) terhadap Pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus dan Salmonella typhi

Penyakit infeksi dapat disebabkan bakteri seperti Staphylococcus aureus dan Salmonella typhi. Pengobatan penyakit infeksi dapat menggunakan antibiotik. Namun antibiotik dapat menimbulkan efek samping pada penggunanya. Daun limau kuit (Citrus hystrix D.C.) mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder seperti alkaloid, steroid, triterpenoid, tanin dan flavonoid yang dapat digunakan sebagai antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas serbuk ekstrak daun limau kuit terhadap pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus dan Salmonella typhi. Jenis penelitian eksperimen dan rancangan penelitian Posttest Only Control Group Design dengan variabel bebas yaitu konsentrasi serbuk ekstrak daun limau kuit dan variabel terikat yaitu pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus dan Salmonella typhi. Uji aktivitas antibakteri yang digunakan yaitu dilusi cair KHM dan KBM dengan konsentrasi serbuk ekstrak daun limau kuit pada Staphylococcus aureus yaitu 130 mg/mL, 140 mg/mL, 150 mg/mL, 160 mg/mL, 170 mg/mL, 180 mg/mL, 190 mg/mL, dan 200 mg/mL, sedangkan pada Salmonella typhi yaitu 90 mg/mL, 100 mg/mL, 110 mg/mL, 120 mg/mL, 130 mg/mL, 140 mg/mL dan 150 mg/mL. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Salmonella typhi adalah 180 mg/mL dan 120 mg/mL, sedangkan pada hasil Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimum (KBM) terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Salmonella typhi adalah 190 mg/mL dan 130 mg/mL. Analisis data pada penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif. Berdasarkan analisa secara deskriptif didapatkan bahwa efektivitas serbuk ekstrak daun limau kuit terhadap Staphylococcus aureus pada konsentrasi 190 mg/mL (0 koloni) dan Salmonella typhi pada konsentrasi 130 mg/mL (0 koloni). Masyarakat disarankan agar dapat memanfaatkan informasi mengenai daun limau kuit sebagai dasar pengobatan alternatif penyakit infeksi. ABSTRACT 
 
Effectiveness of Extract Powder Lime Kuit Leaf (Citrus hystrix D.C.) on the Growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi

Infectious diseases can be caused by bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi. Treatment of infectious diseases can use antibiotics. However, antibiotics can cause side effects on users. Lime kuit leaf (Citrus hystrix D.C.) contain secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, steroids, triterpenoids, tannins and flavonoids that can be used as antibacterial. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the extract powder of lime kuit leaf  on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi. The type of research used is the experiment and the research design used is the Posttest Only Control Group Design with independent variables namely the concentration of extract powder lime kuit leaf and the dependent variable is the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi. The antibacterial activity test used was liquid dilution of MIC and MBC with the concentration of lime kuit leaf extract powder which was in Staphylococcus aureus which is 130 mg/mL, 140 mg/mL, 150 mg/mL, 160 mg/mL, 170 mg/mL, 180 mg/mL, 190 mg/mL, and 200 mg/mL, whereas in Salmonella typhi namely 90 mg/mL, 100 mg/mL, 110 mg/mL, 120 mg/mL, 130 mg/mL, 140 mg/mL and 150 mg/mL. The results showed that the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi was 190 mg/mL and 130 mg/mL, while the Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) results against Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi are 190 mg/mL and 130 mg/mL. Data analysis in this research was conducted descriptively. Based on a descriptive analysis, it was found that the effectiveness of powdered extract of lime kuit against Staphylococcus aureus at a concentration of 190 mg/mL (0 colonies) and Salmonella typhi at a concentration of 130 mg/mL (0 colonies). The public is advised to be able to utilize information about lime kuit leaf as a basis for alternative treatments for infectious diseases.
