PENGARUH EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN JERUK PURUT (Citrus hystrix) TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BAKTERI Staphylococcus epidermidis dan Salmonella typhi

Penyakit infeksi masih merupakan jenis penyakit yang paling banyak diderita oleh penduduk di negara berkembang, termasuk Indonesia. Penyakit infeksi disebabkan oleh mikroorganisme (bakteri, parasit dan jamur), bakteri yang sering menyebabkan infeksi yaitu Staphylococcus epidermidis dan Salmonela typhi. Salah satu tanaman obat yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri adalah daun jeruk purut. Kandungan antibakteri daun jeruk purut yaitu alkoloid, flavonoid, tanin, steroid dan saponin. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui konsentrasi hambat minimal (KHM) dan konsentrasi bunuh minimal (KBM) serta pengaruh ekstrak etanol daun jeruk purut (Citrus hystrix) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis dan Salmonella typhi. Metode penelitian ini adalah True eksperiment menggunakan rancangan Posttest Only Control Group Design yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dengan konsentrasi 30%, 40%, 50%, 60% dan 70% ekstrak etanol daun jeruk purut dengan 5 pengulangan. Uji aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode KHM dan KBM. Selanjutnya data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji Regresi linier. Hasil uji ekstrak etanol daun jeruk purut menunjukkan nilai rata-rata KHM terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis pada 50% dan Salmonella typhi pada konsentrasi 60%. Sedangkan hasil rata-rata nilai KBM nya yaitu pada  konsentrasi 60%. Hasil uji regresi linier  menunjukkan nilai p < 0,05 yaitu 0,000. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu ekstrak etanol daun jeruk purut mempunyai pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis dan Salmonella typhi dengan nilai KHM dan KBM berturut-turut 50% dan 60%. Saran penelitian ini yaitu perlu penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai uji antibakteri ekstrak etanol daun jeruk purut (Citrus hystrix) dengan konsentrasi yang lebih tinggi dalam menghambat bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis dan Salmonella typhi.

ABSTRACT 
 
The Effect of Ethanol of Kaffir Lime leaves (Citrus hystrix) Extract Against Bacterial Growth Staphylococcus epidermidis and Salmonella typhi 
 
Infectious diseases are still the most widely suffered by people in developing countries, including Indonesia. Infectious diseases are caused by microorganisms (bacteria, parasites and fungi), bacteria that often cause infections i.e. Staphylococcus epidermidis and Salmonela typhi. One of the medicinal plants that has antibacterial activity is the leaf of kaffer lime. Antibacterial ingredients of citrus leaves are alkoloid, flavonoids, tannins, steroids and saponins. The purpose of this research is to know the minimum barrier concentration (KHM) and the minimal Kill concentration (KBM) as well as the effect of citrus leaf ethanol extract (Citrus hystrix) against the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis and Salmonella typhi bacteria. This method of research is True experiment using design Posttest Only Control Group Design consisting of 5 treatment with concentration 30%, 40%, 50%, 60% and 70% citrus leaf ethanol extract with 5 repetitions. Test antibacterial activity conducted by KHM and KBM method. Further data is analyzed by using a linear regression test. The kaffir lime orange leaf ethanol extract test results show the average value of khm against Staphylococcus epidermidis that is 50% and Salmonella typhi bacteria that is at concentrations of 60%. While the average results of its KBM value is at 60% concentration. The result of a linear regression test indicates a value of < 0.05 P of 0.000. The conclusion of this research is that citrus leaf ethanol extract has an influence on the growth of the bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis and Salmonella typhi with the value of KHM and KBM respectively 50% and 60%. The advice of this research is to need more research on the antibacterial test of citrus leaf ethanol extract (Citrus hystrix) with higher concentrations in inhibiting bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis and Salmonella typhi.
