Pengaruh Konsentrasi Hambat Minimal dan Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimal Madu Lebah Kelulut (Trigona spp) terhadap Streptococcus pyogenes secara in vitro

Streptococcus pyogenes (Streptococcus β hemolyticus grup A) merupakan salah satu penyebab infeksi saluran nafas. Kerongkongan merupakan tempat pertama yang diserang bakteri ini sehingga menyebabkan nyeri menelan. Penggunaan antibiotik tidak tepat dapat menyebabkan resistensi terhadap antibiotik. Salah satu bahan alam yang diyakini secara empiris mempunyai banyak khasiat dan relatif aman adalah madu dari lebah Trigona spp. Madu Trigona spp memiliki total fenolik sekitar 925,2 mg GAE/kg dibandingkan dengan madu Apis spp sekitar 567,3 mg GAE/kg. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya hambat minimal dan daya bunuh minimal madu lebah kelulut (Trigona spp) terhadap Streptococcus pyogenes secara in vitro. Penelitian ini bersifat true experiment dengan rancangan postest only control group design menggunakan metode dilusi tabung. Hasil penelitian diukur dengan Konsentrasi Hambat Minimal (KHM) menunjukkan adanya kejernihan pada konsentrasi 2,5%, 5%, 7,5%, 10%, dan 12,5%, serta Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimal (KBM) pada konsentrasi 2,5% sebanyak 35 koloni, 5% sebanyak 15 koloni, 7,5% sebanyak 2 koloni, 10% sebanyak 0 koloni dan 12,5% sebanyak 0 koloni. Konsentrasi yang efektif dalam membunuh Streptococcus pyogenes adalah 10%. Bagi peneliti selanjutnya disarankan untuk meneliti pengaruh madu lebah kelulut (Trigona spp) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri lain dengan menggunakan teknik ekstraksi atau pelarut lain, efektifitas madu lebah kelulut (Trigona spp) terhadap bakteri lain, dan identifikasi bakteri cemaran yang terdapat pada madu lebah kelulut (Trigona spp).

Influence of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration of Kelulut Honey Bee (Trigona spp) Towards Streptococcus pyogenes by Means of in vitro

Streptococcus pyogenes (Streptococcus β hemolyticus group A) is one of the causes of respiratory tract infections. The esophagus is the first place that is attacked by this bacteria causing dysphagia. Inappropriate utilization of antibiotics can lead to a resistance against antibiotics. One of the natural ingredients that is believed to empirically have many benefits and is relatively safe is the honey from Trigona spp. Trigona spp honey has a total phenolic approximately 925.2 mg GAE/kg, compared to Apis spp honey which is around 567.3 mg GAE/kg. This study was aimed to discover minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration of kelulut honey bee (Trigona spp) towards Streptococcus pyogenes by means of in vitro. This was a true experiment research with a postest only control group design by employing tube dilution method. The results of the research which were measured by means of Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) showed concentration clarity of 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%, and 12.5%, and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) at the concentrations of 2.5% as many as 35 colonies, 5% as many as 15 colonies, 7.5% as many as 2 colonies, 10% of 0 colony and 12.5% of 0 colony. The effective concentration in killing Streptococcus pyogenes was 10%. For further research it is of urgency to investigate the effect of honey bee (Trigona spp) towards the growth of other bacteria by means of extraction or other solvent technique, effectiveness of kelulut honey bee (Trigona spp) against other bacteria, and identification of contaminant bacteria which were found in kelulut honey bee (Trigona spp).
