PENGARUH PENUNDAAN WAKTU PEMERIKSAAN KADAR AMONIA DALAM AIR DENGAN PENGAWETAN DAN TANPA PENGAWETAN

 Penundaan pemeriksaan kadar amonia dapat merubah kadar amonia karena pengaruh lingkungan. SNI 6989.57.2008 menganjurkan sampel diawetkan dengan menambahkan H2SO4 pekat sampai pH <2 serta didinginkan di suhu 4°C jika tidak segera diperiksa. Sampel yang diawetkan dianjurkan diperiksa dalam waktu tidak lebih dari 7 hari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penundaan waktu pemeriksaan terhadap kadar amonia dalam air dengan pengawetan dan tanpa pengawetan yang ditunda 0-10 hari. Jenis penelitian adalah Quasi Experiment dengan rancangan Posttest Only Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian adalah air kolam ikan yang dilakukan pengawetan dan tidak dilakukan pengawetan yang ditunda 0-10 hari. Hasil penelitian menujukkan rata-rata kadar amonia sampel dengan pengawetan lebih besar dibandingkan dengan rata-rata kadar amonia sampel tanpa pengawetan pada semua lama penundaan. Didapatkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kadar amonia dengan pengawetan dan tanpa pengawetan. Didapatkan pula hubungan yang signifikan antara lama penundaan terhadap kadar amonia pada sampel dengan pengawetan dan tanpa pengawetan, serta pengaruh yang signifikan dengan R2=0,136 pada sampel dengan pengawetan dan R2=0,875 pada sampel tanpa pengawetan. Perbedaan kadar yang signifikan terjadi di lama pendiaman 7 hari pada sampel tanpa pengawetan dan 10 hari pada sampel dengan pengawetan. Dari penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa lama penundaan dan pengawetan mempengaruhi kadar amonia, sehingga dianjurkan kadar amonia harus sesegera mungkin diperiksa tanpa diawetkan tidak lebih lama dari 6 hari.

ABSTRACT 
 
THE EFFECT OF DELAY OF AMMONIA DETERMINATION IN WATER WITH PRESERVATIAN AND WITHOUT PRESERVATION

 Delaying ammonia determination in water may lead to a change of ammonia levels caused by environmental factor. SNI 6989.57.2008 recommends that samples be preserved by adding concentrated H2SO4 to pH <2 and cooled to 4°C if not immediately analyzed and recommended to be analyzed within 7 days. The goal of this study was to determine the effect of delay of ammonia determination in water with and without preservation which the analysis was delayed by 0-10 days. The research was using Quasi-Experiment with Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The samples were freshwater taken from a fishpond which was preserved and not preserved and delayed by 0-10 days. The results showed that the average ammonia level of samples with preservation was greater than the samples without preservation at all lengths of delay. There was a significant difference between ammonia levels in samples with preservation and samples without preservation. There was also a significant relationship between the length of delay and ammonia levels in both samples with preservation and without preservation, and a significant effect with R2 = 0.136 on samples with preservation and R2 = 0.875 on samples without preservation. Significant differences in ammonia level occurred at 7 days of delay time in samples without preservation and 10 days in samples with preservation. From this research, it was concluded that both the length of delay and preservation affected ammonia levels, so it is recommended that ammonia levels should be examined as soon as possible without preserving no longer than 6 days.
