Pasokan air bersih merupakan masalah global, terutama di negara berkembang 
di mana penduduk pedesaan mengandalkan air sungai, bendungan, dan sumur yang 
sering kali terkontaminasi limbah rumah tangga dan lumpur. Eco enzyme, yang 
dihasilkan dari fermentasi limbah dapur organik, merupakan alternatif ramah 
lingkungan untuk membersihkan air.  
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas eco enzyme dalam 
memperbaiki kualitas air sungai berdasarkan parameter kekeruhan, suhu, pH, dan TDS. 
Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan variabel bebas berupa dosis eco enzyme dan 
variabel terikat kekeruhan suhu, pH dan TDS.  
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum perlakuan, air sungai memiliki 
kekeruhan 126 NTU, suhu 28,5°C, pH 7,69, dan TDS 493 mg/L. Setelah perlakuan, 
dosis 5 mL eco enzyme menurunkan kekeruhan menjadi 59,5 NTU dengan Removal 
Efficiency  49.95 persen. Suhu air tetap stabil memenuhi standar baku mutu ± 3 30°C. 
Namun, pH menurun drastis dari 7,5 menjadi 4,6, tidak memenuhi baku mutu. TDS 
terbaik dicapai pada dosis 5 mL dengan penurunan menjadi 184 mg/L dengan Removal 
Efficiency 57.4 persen.  
Analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa eco enzyme memiliki efek signifikan 
terhadap kekeruhan, pH, dan TDS, tetapi tidak pada suhu. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan 
bahwa eco enzyme efektif dalam mengurangi kekeruhan dan TDS air sungai, meskipun 
ada penurunan pH yang signifikan yang perlu diperhatikan.

Clean water supply is a global issue, especially in developing countries where 
rural residents rely on river, dam and well water that is often contaminated with 
household waste and sludge. Eco enzyme, produced from the fermentation of organic 
kitchen waste, is an environmentally friendly alternative to clean water.  
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of eco enzyme in improving river 
water quality based on turbidity, temperature, pH, and TDS parameters. This research 
was an experiment with independent variables in the form of eco enzyme dosage and 
dependent variables of turbidity temperature, pH and TDS. 
The results showed that before treatment, the river water had a turbidity of 126 
NTU, temperature of 28.5°C, pH of 7.69, and TDS of 493 mg/L. After treatment, a dose 
of 5 mL of eco enzyme reduced the turbidity to 59.5 NTU with a Removal Efficiency of 
49.95%. The water temperature remained stable to meet the quality standard ± 3 30°C. 
However, the pH decreased drastically from 7.5 to 4.6, does not meet quality standards. 
The best TDS was achieved at a dose of 5 mL with a decrease to 184 mg/L with a 
Removal Efficiency of 57.4%.  
Statistical analysis showed that eco enzyme had a significant effect on turbidity, 
pH, and TDS, but not on temperature. This study concludes that eco enzyme is effective 
in reducing turbidity and TDS of river water, although there is a significant decrease 
in pH that needs to be considered.
