sphenops) DAN IKAN CERE (Gambusia affinis) SEBAGAI PREDATOR 
JENTIK NYAMUK Aedes sp”

Pengendalian vektor secara biologi yang tentunya lebih mudah dan ramah 
lingkungan yang mampu mengendalikan terjadinya penularan penyakit DBD yaitu 
dengan pemanfaatan ikan pemakan jentik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah 
Mengetahui perbedaan daya predasi antara ikan molly (Poecilia sphenops) dan 
ikan cere (Gambusia affinis) sebagai predator jentik Aedes sp 
Jenis penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah True 
Eksperiment dengan desain Post Test Only Control Group. Populasi penelitian ini 
adalah jentik nyamuk Aedes sp yang didapatkan di alam bebas seperti bak mandi, 
vas bunga, dan lain-lain, yang menjadi tempat sebagai perindukan jentik nyamuk 
Aedes sp. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah jumlah jentik nyamuk Aedes sp yang 
habis dimakan dalam waktu selama 3 jam. Analisis data menggunakan Uji 
Kruskall wallis dan Uji Man-Whitney.  
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada Ikan Molly (Poecilia sphenops) dan 
Ikan Cere (Gambusia affinis) selama 3 jam diketahui daya predasi rata-rata 
tertinggi diperolah pada Ikan Molly (Poecilia sphenops) yaitu sebanyak 14 ekor.  
Uji statistik Man-whitney U didapatkan bahwa pada semua perlakuan 
diketahui nilai Asymp. Sig atau nilai p (0,000) < 0,05 artinya Ada Perbedaan Daya 
Predasi antara Ikan Molly (Poecilia sphenops) dan Ikan Cere (Gambusia affinis).  
Kepada masyarakat dapat melakukan pengendalian secara biologi ini 
untuk menjadi salah satu Pengendalian Vektor dan Binatang Pengganggu pada 
lingkungan dengan menggunakan Ikan Molly (Poecilia sphenops) pada tempat
tempat yang memungkinkan berkembang biaknya jentik Aedes sp seperti bak 
mandi/wc, tempat penampungan air bersih untuk upaya pencegahan vektor 
Demam Berdarah Dengeu (DBD).

Biological vector control is certainly easier and environmentally friendly 
which is able to control the occurrence of dengue disease transmission, namely by 
utilizing larval-eating fish. The purpose of this study was to determine the 
difference in predation power between molly fish (Poecilia sphenops) and cere 
fish (Gambusia affinis) as predators of Aedes sp larvae. 
The type of research used in this study was True Experiment with Post 
Test Only Control Group design. The population of this study was Aedes sp 
mosquito larvae obtained in the wild such as bathtubs, flower vases, and others, 
which became a place as a breeding ground for Aedes sp mosquito larvae. The 
sample in this study was the number of Aedes sp mosquito larvae that had been 
eaten within 3 hours. Data analysis used Kruskall wallis test and Man-Whitney 
test.  
Based on the results of research on Molly Fish (Poecilia sphenops) and 
Cere Fish (Gambusia affinis) for 3 hours, it was known that the highest average 
predation power was obtained in Molly Fish (Poecilia sphenops) which was as 
many as 14 heads.  
Man-whitney U statistical test found that in all treatments known Asymp. 
Sig value or p value (0.000) <0.05 means there was a difference in predation 
power between Molly fish (Poecilia sphenops) and Cere fish (Gambusia affinis).  
The community can carry out this biological control to become one of the 
Vector Control and Nuisance Animals in the environment by using Molly Fish 
(Poecilia sphenops) in places that allow breeding of Aedes sp larvae such as 
bathtubs/toilets, clean water reservoirs for efforts to prevent dengue fever vectors.
