Pengaruh Variasi Waktu Penundaan Pemeriksaan Terhadap Kadar
Elektrolit (Na, K, Ca) pada Sampel Serum di RSUD dr. Doris Sylvanus

Peneliti: Prisma Selvia

Pembimbing: Yayuk Kustiningsih, Anny Thuraidah

Doris Sylvanus. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode
experiment dan menggunakan rancangan post test only with control. Subjek

ABSTRACT

Effect of Time Variation of Electrolyte Examination Delay (Na, K, Ca)

on Serum Samples at RSUD dr. Doris Sylvanus

Author: Prisma Selvia

Advisor: Yayuk Kustiningsih, Anny Thuraidah

Blood electrolyte examination is one of the clinical laboratory tests that is strongly
influenced by the pre-analytical stage. Examination delay is one of the factors that
can affect electrolyte examination. Every 30 minutes after the blood draw, a delay
in the examination of the blood sample allows the electrolyte levels in the tube to
decrease. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in test
delay time on electrolyte levels (Na, K, Ca) in serum samples at RSUD dr. Doris
Sylvanus. This research method uses an experimental method and uses a post test
only design with control with purposive sampling techniques. The subjects of this
study were male medical check-up patients who were declared healthy and did not
suffer from a disease. Sample examination using the GEM 3500 Premier Analyzer
electrolyte. Data analysis using a computer program with the Repeated Anova Test.
The results showed that the average sodium rate of 0 hours, 1 hour, 2 hours and 3
consecutive hours was 139 mmol/L, 139 mmol/L, 141 mmol/L and 142 mmol/L.
The average potassium rate of 0 hours, 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 consecutive hours is
4,2 mmol/L, 4,2 mmol/L, 4,3 mmol/L, and 4.4 mmol/L. The average calcium rate
of 0 hours, 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 consecutive hours are 1.17 mmo/L, 1.15 mmol/L,
1.13 mmol/L, and 1.11 mmol/L. Repeated Anova test shows sodium results with
sig. 0.000 (< 0.05), potassium with sig. 0.009 (< 0.05), calcium with sig. 0.000 (<
0.05) means that there is a significant difference from the variation in the delay time
of examination of sodium, potassium and calcium levels with time variations of 0
hours, 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours. Conclusion there is an influence of variations in
test delay time on sodium, potassium and calcium levels in serum samples with time
variations of 0 hours, 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours. Research suggestions can be
carried out further research related to the effect of sample storage temperature on
electrolyte levels (Na, K, Ca).
