(STH) Pada Anak SDN Keliling Benteng Ulu 1 Kabupaten Banjar

hygiene kurang baik >46 sebanyak 73 anak (70,9%). Disimpulkan adanya
Benteng Ulu 1 Kabupaten Banjar berdasarkan analisa uji Spearman didapatkan
nilai sig 0,000, (<ɑ=0,05). Saran peneliti selanjutnya melakukan penelitian
hubungan infeksi Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) dengan sanitasi lingkungan.

Worm infection is an infectious disease that remains a health issue in
Indonesia. The most common group of intestinal nematode parasites that cause
worm infections is Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH). Primary school children are
highly susceptible to worm infections due to poor personal hygiene. This study aims
to determine the relationship between personal hygiene and STH worm infection
among students at SDN Keliling Benteng Ulu 1 in Banjar Regency. This research
is an analytical survey with a cross-sectional study design. The population consists
of 138 students from grades 1 to 6 at SDN Keliling Benteng Ulu 1. Random
sampling technique was used to select 103 children. Data collection was done
through laboratory examination, questionnaires, and observation. Microscopic
examination of stool samples using the Kato-Katz method was conducted to detect
worm eggs. The results showed that 15 children (14.6%) were infected with Ascaris
lumbricoides species, with a density of 24-48 eggs per gram of feces, and 8 children
(22.3%) were infected with Trichuris trichiura species, with a density of 24-72 eggs
per gram of feces. The questionnaire data revealed that 30 children (29.1%) had
good personal hygiene (≤46), while 73 children (70.9%) had poor personal hygiene
(>46). Based on the Spearman correlation test analysis, it can be concluded that
there is a relationship between personal hygiene and STH worm infection at SDN
Keliling Benteng Ulu 1 in Banjar Regency, with a significance value of 0.000
(<ɑ=0.05). Future research should investigate the relationship between Soil
Transmitted Helminth (STH) infection and environmental sanitation.
