Pengaruh Kombinasi Bunga Telang (Clitoria ternatea) dan Rimpang Jahe 
(Zingiber officinale) terhadap Aktivitas Antioksidan

Masyarakat mulai menyadari pentingnya mengonsumsi makanan atau minuman 
yang mengandung antioksidan karena mempunyai peranan untuk menjaga 
kesehatan tubuh. Kandungan kimia dalam antioksidan berguna untuk melindungi 
tubuh dari pengaruh senyawa radikal bebas. Antioksidan dapat berbentuk sintetis 
maupun alami. Antioksidan alami dapat ditemukan pada berbagai jenis tanaman. 
Diantara tanaman tersebut bunga telang dan rimpang jahe berpotensi sebagai 
antioksidan alami. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi 
bunga telang dan rimpang jahe terhadap aktivitas antioksidan. Jenis penelitian yang 
digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan rancangan eksperimen sederhana (Posttest 
only control group design). Sampel yang digunakan adalah ekstrak dekoksi bunga 
telang dan rimpang jahe. Metode pengukuran menggunakan DPPH (2,2-diphenyl
1- picrylhydrazyl) dengan panjang gelombang 530 nm. Hasil penelitian 
menunjukkan % inhibisi DPPH kombinasi 1:0 adalah 55,75%, kombinasi 0:1 
adalah 55,54%, kombinasi 1:1 adalah 54,92%, kombinasi 1:2 adalah 55,29% dan 
kombinasi 2:1 adalah 56,21%. Hasil uji statistik one way anova didapatkan nilai 
0,015 (p < 0,05) sehingga H0 ditolak. Kesimpulan penelitian terdapat pengaruh 
kombinasi bunga telang dan rimpang jahe terhadap aktivitas antioksidan. Penelitian 
selanjutnya disarankan melakukan penelitian mengenai aktivitas antioksidan 
dengan sampel, metode, atau alat yang berbeda.

ABSTRACT 
The Effect of the Combination of Butterfly Pea Flower (Clitoria ternatea) and 
Ginger Rhizome (Zingiber officinale) on Antioxidant Activity

People are starting to realize the importance of consuming food or drinks that 
contain antioxidants because they have a role in maintaining a healthy body. The 
chemical content in antioxidants helps protect the body from the effects of free 
radical compounds. Antioxidants can be either synthetic or natural. Natural 
antioxidants can be found in various types of plants. Among these plants, butterfly 
pea flower and ginger rhizome have the potential as natural antioxidants. This study 
aimed to determine the effect of the combination of butterfly pea flowers and ginger 
rhizome on antioxidant activity. The type of research used is an experiment with a 
simple experimental design (Posttest only control group design). The samples used 
were decoction extracts of butterfly pea flowers and ginger rhizomes. The 
measurement method uses DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) with a 
wavelength of 530 nm. The results showed % DPPH inhibition of the 1:0 
combination was 55.75%, the 0:1 combination was 55.54%, the 1:1 combination 
was 54.92%, the 1:2 combination was 55.29%, and the 2:1 combination is 56.21%. 
The results of the one way Anova statistical test obtained a value of 0.015 (p <0.05), 
so H0 was rejected. The study concludes that the combination of butterfly pea 
flowers and ginger rhizome has an effect on antioxidant activity. Further research 
is recommended to conduct research on antioxidant activity with different samples, 
methods, or tools.
