dan 6 Jam Menggunakan Metode Westergren Modifikasi

Laju endap darah (LED) adalah pemeriksaan untuk menentukan kecepatan
eritrosit mengendap dalam darah yang berisi antikoagulan pada suatu tabung 
vertikal. Salah satu faktor teknis yang mempengaruhi pemeriksaan LED adalah 
waktu pemeriksaan, menurut Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) lama waktu 
penundaan sampel dengan antikoagulan EDTA untuk pemeriksaan LED adalah 
2 jam pada suhu ruang. Jika darah dibiarkan, eritrosit akan cenderung berubah 
menjadi sferis dan dapat menghambat pembentukan rouleaux sehingga 
mengendap lebih lambat dan memberikan penurunan hasil LED. Penelitian ini 
bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil pemeriksaan laju endap darah segera 
diperiksa, tunda 2 jam, 4 jam dan 6 jam pada suhu ruang. Hasil pemeriksaan 
menunjukkan rata-rata secara berturut-turut adalah 9,5 mm/jam, 8,3 mm/jam, 6,5 
mm/jam dan 5,7 mm/jam. Berdasarkan uji Repeated Measures Anova didapatkan 
nilai signifikansi 0,001 (<0,05) yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada 
hasil laju endap darah segera diperiksa, ditunda 2 jam, 4 jam dan 6 jam 
menggunakan metode Westergren modifikasi (Sediplast ESR System). Hasil uji 
Pairwise Comparisons pada LED segera diperiksa dengan tunda 2 jam tidak 
terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p>0,05), setelah penundaan 4 jam dan 6 jam 
terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p<0,05). Untuk penelitian selanjutnya 
disarankan melakukan penelitian terhadap morfologi eritrosit pada sediaan apus 
darah tepi (SADT).

ABSTRACT
The Difference Of Result Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rates On Direct and 
2 Hours, 4 Hours and 6 Hours Delayed Examination Using Modified 
Westergren Method (Sediplast ESR System)

The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) is an examination to determined
rate at which erythrocytes settle in blood containing anticoagulants in a vertical 
tube. One of technical factors that affect ESR is examination time, according to 
Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) length of delay samples with EDTA 
anticoagulant for ESR examination is 2 hours at room temperature. If blood’s left, 
erythrocytes will turn into spherical and inhibit formation of rouleaux to settles 
more slowly and causes a decrease ESR result. This study determined differences
of results ESR on direct and 2 hours, 4 hours and 6 hours delayed examination at 
room temperature. The results of examination showed averages are 9,5 mm/hour, 
8,3 mm/hour, 6,5 mm/hour and 5,7 mm/hour. This showed that the longer delay, 
the lower ESR result. The Repeated Measures Anova statistical test showed a 
significance value of 0,001 which means there’s a significant difference of ESR
results on direct and 2 hours, 4 hours and 6 hours delayed examination using the 
modified Westergren method (Sediplast ESR System). The results of Pairwise 
Comparisons test on ESR were examined immediately with a delay of 2 hours, 
there was no significant difference (p>0.05), after a delay of 4 hours and 6 hours 
there was a significant difference (p<0.05). For further research, recommended to 
undertake research on research on erythrocyte morphology on peripheral blood 
smear (SADT).
