 Transfusi darah adalah proses penyaluran darah dari pendonor kepada pasien yang 
bertujuan untuk menggantikan darah yang hilang karena pendarahan ataupun lainnya. 
Pemberian darah untuk transfusi dapat berupa darah segar maupun darah simpan. Kualitas 
darah simpan harus dijaga dan disimpan di refrigerator dengan suhu 2-6
0C. Dalam proses 
penyimpanan banyak perubahan yang terjadi pada komponen didalamnya termasuk
peningkatan kadar hemoglobin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pangaruh lama 
penyimpanan whole blood donor terhadap kadar hemoglobin pada whole blood donor segar 0 
hari dan whole blood donor simpan 10, 20, 30, dan 40 hari. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Unit 
Transfusi Darah RSUD Datu Sanggul Rantau pada bulan Juli sampai dengan Agustus 2022. 
Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasyi-Eksperimen dengan rancangan Post Test Only 
Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian ini menggunakan 10 kantong whole blood donor dari 
10 orang responden yang memenuhi persyaratan sebagai pendonor. Rata-rata hasil pengukuran 
kadar hemoglobin whole blood donor berdasarkan lama penyimpanan 0 hari 15,0 gr/dl; 10 hari 
15,3 gr/dl; 20 hari 15,8 gr/dl; 30 hari 16,0 gr/dl; dan 40 hari 16,5 gr/dl. Hasil penelitian ini 
menunjukkan semakin lama penyimpanan whole blood donor semakin meningkat kadar 
hemoglobin didalamnya. Berdasarkan hasil uji repeated Anova menunjukkan ada pengaruh 
yang bermakna antara kadar hemoglobin whole blood donor setelah penyimpanan 10, 20, 30
dan 40 hari dengan kontrol kadar hemoglobin whole blood donor segar 0 hari yaitu nilai 
signifikasi 0,000 < α (0,05). Bagi peneliti selanjutnya dapat melakukan penelitian kadar 
hematologi lainnya dan faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi darah donor selama 
penyimpanan.

ABSTRACT
The Effect of Whole Blood Donor Storage Time on Hemoglobin Levels in the Blood 
Transfusion Unit of RSUD Datu Sanggul Rantau

 Blood transfusion is the process of distributing blood from donors to patients with the 
aim of replacing blood lost due to bleeding or other causes. Blood donation for transfusion can 
be in the form of fresh blood or stored blood. The quality of stored blood must be maintained 
and stored in the refrigerator at a temperature of 2-60⁰C. In the process of storage, many 
changes occur in the components in it, including an increase in hemoglobin levels. This study 
aims to determine the effect of storage time for whole blood donors on hemoglobin levels in 
fresh whole blood donors 0 days and whole blood donors stored for 10, 20, 30, and 40 days. 
This research was conducted at the Blood Transfusion Unit of RSUD Datu Sanggul Rantau 
from July to August 2022. The type of research used was Quasyi-Experiment with Post Test 
Only Control Group Design. The sample of this study used 10 bags of whole blood donors 
from 10 respondents who met the requirements as donors. The average result of measurement 
of hemoglobin levels of whole blood donors based on storage time 0 days 15.0 g/dl; 10 days 
15.3 g/dl; 20 days 15.8 g/dl; 30 days 16.0 g/dl; and 40 days 16.5 g/dl. The results of this study 
indicate that the longer the storage of whole blood donors, the higher the hemoglobin content 
in it. Based on the results of the Repeated Anova test, it showed that there was a significant 
effect between the hemoglobin levels of whole blood donors after storage for 10, 20, 30 and 
40 days with control of hemoglobin levels of fresh whole blood donors 0 days, with a 
significance value of 0.000 < (0.05). For further researchers, they can conduct research on other 
hematological levels and factors that can affect donor blood during storage.
