Tuberkulosis merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang masih 
menjadi tantangan secara global dan nasional. Penyakit tuberkulosis disebabkan 
oleh bakteri Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Untuk menegakkan diagnosa penyakit 
TB dengan pemeriksaan laboratorium menggunakan metode Tes Cepat 
Molekuler (TCM) karena metode ini lebih sensitif dan akurat dibandingkan 
metode konvensional, dan sekaligus dapat mendeteksi sensitivitas Rifampisin. 
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil pemeriksaan TB pada 
metode TCM menggunakan alat GeneXpert terhadap penundaan penanganan 
sputum pada tersangka tuberkulosis di RSUD Pangeran Jaya Sumitra Kotabaru. 
Metode penelitian ini adalah Survey Analitik dengan menggunakan rancangan 
penelitian Cross Sectional Studies dengan membandingkan hasil pemeriksaan 
Mycobacterium tuberculosis pada sampel sputum yang diperiksa segera dengan 
sampel sputum yang ditunda selama 12 jam pada suhu ruang dan selanjutnya data 
di analisis secara statistik menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian 
menunjukkan bahwa dari total 46 sampel sputum yang dilakukan penelitian 
didapatkan hasil pemeriksaan sputum segera yaitu MTB Not Detected 33 sampel, 
MTB Detected Very Low 3 sampel, MTB Detected Low 6 sampel, dan MTB 
Detected Medium 4 sampel. Untuk sampel yang ditunda 12 jam pada suhu ruang 
didapatkan hasil MTB Not Detected 33 sampel, MTB Detected Very Low 3 
sampel, MTB Detected Low 6 sampel, dan MTB Detected Medium 4 sampel. 
Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu tidak terdapat perbedaan hasil pemeriksaan 
Mycobacterium tuberculosis pada sampel sputum segera dengan yang ditunda 12 
jam pada suhu ruang. Saran penelitian ini adalah diperlukan penelitian lebih 
lanjut mengenai variabel lain yang dapat mempengaruhi hasil pemeriksaan TB 
metode TCM seperti variasi waktu penundaan, suhu, dan lain sebagainya.

Tuberculosis is a public health problem that remains a challenge globally 
and nationally. Tuberculosis disease caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis
bacterium. To diagnose TB disease, laboratory examination using the Molecular 
Rapid Test (TCM) can be the most efficient method because this method is more 
sensitive and accurate than conventional methods, and at the same time can detect 
Rifampicin sensitivity. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference 
in the results of TB examination in the TCM method using the GeneXpert tool 
against delays in handling sputum toward tuberculosis suspects at Pangeran Jaya 
Sumitra Kotabaru Hospital. This research method was Analytical Survey using 
the Cross Sectional Studies research design by comparing the results of the 
Mycobacterium tuberculosis examination on the sputum sample examined 
immediately against sputum sample which was delayed for 12 hours at room 
temperature and then the data was analyzed statistically using the Wilcoxon test. 
The results showed that from a total of 46 sputum samples observed, the results of 
the sputum examination were immediately obtained, namely MTB Not Detected 
33 samples, MTB Detected Very Low 3 samples, MTB Detected Low 6 samples, 
and MTB Detected Medium 4 samples. For samples that were delayed by 12 
hours at room temperature, the results of MTB Not Detected 33 samples, MTB 
Detected Very Low 3 samples, MTB Detected Low 6 samples, and MTB Detected 
Medium 4 samples were obtained. The conclusion of this study is that there is no 
difference in the results of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis test on the sputum 
sample immediately with those postponed by 12 hours at room temperature. The 
suggestion of this research is that further research is needed regarding other 
variables that can affect the results of the TB examination of the TCM method 
such as variations in delay of time, temperature, and so on.
