PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN KOAGULAN ALAMI SERBUK TONGKOL JAGUNG (Zea mays L) TERHADAP KEKERUHAN AIR SUNGAI 
(Zulfikar Ali As, S.KM, M.T; Munawar Raharja, S.Si, MPH)

Sebagian besar penduduk di Kabupaten Banjar masih menggunakan air sungai Martapura untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari. Dilihat dari parameter kekeruhan, air sungai Martapura tidak memenuhi syarat yaitu 27 NTU. Sumber air yang tidak memenuhi syarat harus dilakukan pengolahan. Serbuk tongkol jagung mengandung protein yang larut dalam air dan bersifat polielektrolit yang mampu mengikat partikel koloid di dalam air. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan koagulan alami dari serbuk tongkol jagung terhadap kekeruhan air sungai.
Jenis penelitian yaitu eksperimen dengan Pretest Posttest with Control Group. Pengambilan sampel dengan teknik grab sampling dan analisis data menggunakan uji one way anova.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa serbuk tongkol jagung mampu menurunkan kekeruhan menjadi 8,07 NTU (1,82%) pada dosis 0,1 gram/L, 8,02 NTU (2,43%) pada dosis 0,4 gram/L dan 8,17 NTU pada dosis 0,8 gram/L. Berdasarkan hasil uji one way anova dengan nilai sig (0,107) > α (0,05) artinya tidak ada perbedaan penurunan kekeruhan setelah diberikan perlakuan antara dosis 0 gram/L, 0,1 gram/L, 0,4 gram/L dan 0,8 gram/L. 
Disarankan untuk penelitian selanjutnya untuk menguji coba serbuk tongkol jagung pada tingkat kekeruhan yang lebih tinggi.

Most residents in Banjar Regency still use Martapura river water for their daily needs. Judging from the turbidity parameter, Martapura river water does not meet the requirements that is 27 NTU. Water sources that do not meet the requirements must be done processing. Corncob powder contains water-soluble protein and is a polyelectrolyte capable of binding colloidal particles in water. This study  aimed to determine the effect of adding natural coagulant from corncob powder to the turbidity of river water.
The type of research is experimental with Pretest Posttest with Control Group. Sampling using grab sampling technique and data analysis using the one way anova test.
The results showed that corncob powder was able to reduce turbidity to 8,07 NTU (1,82%) at a dose of 0,1 gram/L, 8,02 NTU (2,43%) at a dose of 0,4 gram/L and 8,17 NTU at a dose of 0,8 gram/L. Based on the results of the one way ANOVA test with a value of sig (0,107) > (0,05) it means that there is no difference in the decrease in turbidity after being given treatment between doses of 0 gram/L, 0,1 gram/L, 0,4 gram/L and 0,8 grams/L.
It is recommended for further research to test corncob powder at higher turbidity levels.
