FITOREMIDIASI TANAMAN KAYU APU (Pistia stratiotes L.)

Limbah cair tahu mengandung bahan organik dan padatan yang tinggi. 
Kadar Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) pada limbah cair tahu umumnya jauh di 
atas baku mutu sehingga perlu dikelola sebelum dibuang ke lingkungan. Salah 
satu pengolahan limbah cair tahu adalah dengan metode filtrasi dan fitoremediasi 
tanaman kayu apu (Pistia stratiotes L.).
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penurunan kadar 
Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) pada limbah cair tahu dengan proses filtrasi 
dan fitoremediasi tanaman kayu apu (Pistia stratiotes L.). Jenis penelitian ini 
adalah eksperimen dengan rancangan Pretest-Posttest Control Group. Populasi 
dan Sampel penelitian ini adalah limbah cair tahu yang dihasilkan dari industri 
tahu X di Banjarbaru. Pengaruh perlakuan dianalisis menggunakan One Way 
Anova.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa metode filtrasi dan fitoremediasi 
tanaman kayu apu (Pistia stratiotes L.) mampu menurunkan kadar COD pada 
limbah cair tahu. Variasi berat tanaman terbaik untuk menurunkan kadar COD 
adalah 200 gram dengan peresentase penurunan sebesar 67 Persen. Kadar COD 
hasil perlakuan sebesar 2831,4 mg/ L belum memenuhi baku mutu. Berdasarkan 
uji One Way Anova, tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antar variasi berat 
tanaman kayu apu. 
Metode filtrasi dan fitoremediasi tanaman kayu apu sudah dapat 
menurunkan kadar COD pada limbah cair tahu. Namun masih di atas baku mutu. 
Bagi peneliti selanjutnya dapat melakukan penambahan pengolahan lainnya yang 
mana pengoalahan tersebut dapat memperbaiki kualitas limbah cair tahu sebelum 
di buang ke lingkungan atau badan air.

Tofu liquid waste contains high organic matter and solids, Chemical 
Oxygen Fever (COD) levels in tofu liquid waste are generally far above the 
quality standard so it needs to be managed before being discharged into the 
environment. One of tofu liquid waste treatment is by filtration method and 
phytoremediation of Apu Wood (Pistia stratiotes L). This study aims to determined
the effectiveness of reducing levels of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in tofu 
liquid waste by filtration and phytoremediation methods of Apu wood (Pistia 
stratiotes L). This research type uses an experiment research type with a Pretestposttest Control Group. Population and Sample This research is tofu liquid waste 
produced from tofu industry X in Banjarbaru. The effect of treatment was 
analyzed using One Way Anova.
The results showed that the filtration method and phytoremediation of Apu 
wood (Pistia stratiotes L). Were able to reduce COD levels in tofu liquid waste. 
The best variation of plant weight to reduce COD levels was 200 grams with a 
percentage reduction of 67percent. COD levels from treatment of 2831.4 mg/L 
did not meet the quality standards. Based on the One Way Anova test, there was 
no significant difference between the weight loss of apu wood.
Filtration methods and phytoremediation of Apu wood (Pistia stratiotes L.) 
have been able to reduce COD levels in tofu liquid waste. However, it is still 
above the quality standard. For further researchers, they can add other 
processing which can improve the quality of tofu liquid waste before being 
discharged into the environment or water bodies.
