“PERBEDAAN PENAMBAHAN LINDI DAN EM4 (EFFECTIVE 
MICROORGANISMS) SEBAGAI BIOAKTIVATOR DALAM 
MEMPERCEPAT WAKTU TERJADINYA KOMPOS”

Proses pengomposan dapat terurai secara alami, bahan organik akan 
mengalami proses pelapukan menjadi kompos, namun membutuhkan waktu yang 
cukup lama, sekitar setengah sampai satu tahun. Proses pengomposan dapat 
dipercepat dengan bantuan aktivator. Pada penelitian ini digunakan 2 jenis 
aktivator yaitu lindi dan EM4 (Effective Microorganisms). Lindi yang digunakan 
merupakan lindi olahan yang terbuat dari sampah organik seperti sisa-sisa 
sayuran, kulit buah, dan sampah organik lainnya. Tujuan penelitian ini 
mengetahui perbedaan waktu terjadinya kompos antara perlakuan kontrol, 
perlakuan penambahan lindi dan perlakuan penambahan EM4.
Jenis penelitian yang digunakan bersifat true eksperimental dengan 
rancangan Post-Test Only Control Group Design dengan 3 perlakuan yaitu 
kontrol, penambahan lindi dan penambahan EM4.
Hasil uji Kruskal Wallis menunjukkan ada perbedaan yang signifikant 
pada setiap perlakuan terhadap waktu terjadinya kompos yang dilanjutkan dengan 
uji Mann Whitney Test untuk mengetahui perlakuan mana saja yang memiliki 
perbedaan. Didapatkan hasil bahwa nilai p (0.000) < alpha (0.05) yang artinya 
ada perbedaan pada perlakuan kontrol dengan rata-rata 509,3 jam (21,2 hari), 
penambahan lindi dengan rata rata 350,4 jam (14,6 hari), dan penambahan EM4 
dengan rata-rata 305,3 jam (12,7 hari).
Saran untuk peneliti selanjutnya adalah perlu dilakukan pemeriksaan 
kandungan bakteri yang terdapat pada lindi dan perlu dilakukannya pemeriksaan 
C/N rasio saat awal serta pada hasil akhir kompos.

COMPOST OCCURRENCE TIME”

The composting process can decompose naturally, organic matter will 
undergo a weathering process into compost, but it takes a long time, about half to 
one year. The composting process can be accelerated with the help of an 
activator. In this study, 2 types of activators were used, namely leachate and EM4 
(Effective Microorganisms). The leachate used is processed leachate made from 
organic waste such as vegetable scraps, fruit peels, and other organic waste. The 
purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the time of composting 
between the control treatment, the addition of leachate and the addition of EM4.
The type of research used is true experimental with Post-Test Only Control 
Group Design with 3 treatments, namely control, addition of leachate and 
addition of EM4.
The results of the Kruskal Wallis test showed that there was a significant 
difference in each treatment with respect to the time of composting, which was 
followed by the Mann Whitney Test to find out which treatments had differences. 
The results showed that the p value (0.000) < alpha (0.05) which means that there 
is a difference in the control treatment with an average of 509.3 hours (21.2 
days), the addition of leachate with an average of 350.4 hours (14.6 days). , and 
the addition of EM4 with an average of 305.3 hours (12.7 days).
Suggestions for further researchers are that it is necessary to examine 
the bacterial content contained in the leachate and it is necessary to check the 
C/N ratio at the beginning and at the end of the compost.
