Hubungan Antara Pengetahuan dan Sikap Tentang Penyimpanan 
Garam Terhadap Kadar Iodium

Iodium merupakan zat gizi esensial bagi tubuh. Kebutuhan iodium bagi tubuh bisa 
didapatkan dengan mengonsumsi garam. Cara penyimpanan menjadi salah satu 
faktor yang mempengaruhi kandungan iodium pada garam. Penelitian ini bertujuan 
untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pengetahuan dan sikap tentang penyimpanan 
garam terhadap kadar iodium. Jenis penelitian ini adalah survei analitik dengan 
pendekatan cross-sectional. Metode pemeriksaan yang digunakan adalah metode 
titrasi iodometri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 41,2% responden memiliki 
pengetahuan yang baik, 58,8% kurang sampai sedang. Sebanyak 47,06% 
mempunyai sikap yang baik, 11,76% sedang dan 41,14% kurang. Kadar iodium
yang didapatkan pada garam yaitu dari 20,5648 ppm sampai dengan 78,94409 ppm. 
Berdasarkan hasil uji Chi Square didapatkan nilai p value = 0,044 pada variabel 
pengetahuan dan pada variabel sikap nilai p value = 0,029 yang berarti dapat 
disimpulkan ada hubungan antara pengetahuan dan sikap seseorang tentang 
penyimpanan garam terhadap kadar iodium pada garam. Bagi peneliti selanjutnya 
disarankan untuk melanjutkan penelitian ini dengan menentukan adanya pengaruh 
terhadap dua variabel tersebut.

ABSTRACT
The Correlation Between Knowledge and Attitude About Storage 
Salt Againts Iodine Levels

Iodine is an essential nutrient for the body. The need for iodine for the body can 
obtaining by consuming salt. Storage method is one of the factors that affect the 
iodine content of salt. This study aims to determine the relationship between
knowledge and attitudes about salt storage towards iodine levels. This type of 
research is an analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach. The examination 
method used is the iodometric titration method. The results showed that 41.2% had 
good knowledge, 58.8% had less to moderate. A total of 47.06% respondent have a 
good attitude, 11.76% moderate and 41.14% less. Iodine levels obtained in salt is 
from 20.5648 ppm until 78.9440. Based on the results of the Chi Square test, the p 
value = 0.044 in the knowledge variable and the attitude variable p value = 0.029, 
which means it can be concluded that there is a relationship between knowledge 
and a person's attitude about salt storage towards iodine levels in salt. For more 
researchers, it is recommending to continue this research by determining the 
influence on these two variables
