Air merupakan salah satu kebutuhan pokok sehari-hari makhluk hidup di 
dunia yang tidak dapat dipisahkan. Air dikatakan bersih dan dapat dikonsumi
apabila tidak berwarna, berbau, berasa, dan tidak mengandung bakteri. Air dapat 
digunakan secara langsung, akan tetapi membutuhkan proses pengolahan terlebih 
dahulu. Proses pengolahan air yang terdapat pada PDAM atau IKK adalah dari 
tahap koagulasi, flokulasi, sedimentasi, filtrasi, sampai ke tahap proses desinfeksi.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran sistem pengolahan 
air IKK Batu Benawa di Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Tengah.
Jenis penelitian bersifat deskriptif. Metode yang digunakan adalah Grab 
Sampling dengan 3 titik sampling yaitu, pada air baku, reservoir, dan jaringan 
distribusi. Variabel yang digunakan yaitu Tahapan Pengolahan Air, Kekeruhan, 
pH, dan Sisa Klor dengan metode Pengumpulan data yaitu panduan 
wawancara, observasi, tahapan pengukuran debit, dan peralatan laboratorium.
Hasil pemeriksaan menunjukkan bahwa kualitas kekeruhan dan pH pada 
air baku didapatkan hasil rerata kekeruhan 33,86 NTU dan hasil rerata pH 
8,13; Kualitas kekeruhan, pH, dan sisa klor yang terdapat pada air reservoir 
didapatkan hasil rerata kekeruhan 4,58 NTU, hasil rerata pH 7,65, dan hasil 
rerata sisa klor 0,33 mg/l; Kualitas kekeruhan, pH, dan sisa klor yang terdapat 
pada jaringan distribusi perpipaan terdekat, pertengahan dan didapatkan hasil 
rerata kekeruhan 5,17 NTU; 6,49; dan 5,35 NTU, hasil rerata pH 7,65; 7,67; 
dan 7,74, serta hasil rerata sisa klor 0,35 mg/l; 0,26 mg/l; dan 0,33 mg/l.
Saran yang diberikan dengan melakukan pengawasan dan pengecekan 
setiap hari pada pengolahan air PDAM atau IKK agar kualitas air tersebut 
selalu memenuhi syarat standar baku mutu.

Water is one of the basic daily needs of living things in the world that cannot 
be separated. Water is said to be clean and can be consumed if it is colorless, 
smells, tastes, and does not contain bacteria. Water can be used directly, but 
requires processing first. The water treatment process contained in the PDAM or 
IKK is from the stages of coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, to 
the stage of the disinfection process. The purpose of this study was to determine 
the description of the Batu Benawa IKK water treatment system in Hulu Sungai 
Tengah Regency.
This type of research is descriptive. The method used is Grab Sampling 
with 3 sampling points, namely, raw water, reservoir, and distribution network. 
The variables used are the stages of water treatment, turbidity, pH, and residual 
chlorine with data collection methods, namely interview guides, observations, 
discharge measurement stages, and laboratory equipment.
The results of the examination showed that the turbidity quality and pH of 
the raw water obtained an average turbidity of 33.86 NTU and an average pH 
of 8.13; The turbidity quality, pH, and residual chlorine contained in the 
reservoir water obtained an average turbidity of 4.58 NTU, an average pH of 
7.65, and an average residual chlorine yield of 0.33 mg/l; The quality of 
turbidity, pH, and residual chlorine contained in the distribution network of the 
nearest, middle and middle pipelines and obtained an average turbidity of 5.17 
NTU; 6.49; and 5.35 NTU, the mean pH 7.65; 7.67; and 7.74, and the average 
residual chlorine yield is 0.35 mg/l; 0.26 mg/l; and 0.33 mg/l.
Suggestions are given by monitoring and checking every day on the 
treatment of tap water or IKK so that the quality of the water always meets the 
requirements of quality standards.
