Penyakit diare pada tahun 2020  menjadi kasus tertinggi di Wilayah kerja Puskesmas Barabai. Sumur gali merupakan salah satu sarana air bersih yang digunakan masyarakat di Desa Mandingin Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Tengah berjumlah 22 buah, secara konstruksi sebagian sumur gali belum memenuhi syarat seperti dinding sumur, bibir sumur, dan lantai sumur serta jarak sumur gali dengan sumber pencemar masih kurang dari 11 meter. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran kualitas E. coli air sumur gali terhadap konstruksi dan sumber pencemar di Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Tengah.
Jenis penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan desain penelitian Cross Sectional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh sumur gali yang berjumlah 22 buah sedangkan sampel pemeriksaan dan inpeksi berjumlah 11 buah sumur gali. Analisis dilakukan dengan observasi, pengambilan sampel dan pemeriksaan sampel. 
Hasil inpeksi sanitasi terhadap 11 sumur gali yaitu: sumur gali tingkat risiko amat tinggi berjumlah 2 sumur, tingkat risiko tinggi berjumlah 7 sumur dan tingkat risiko sedang berjumlah 2 sumur. Hasil pemeriksaan kualitas bakteriologis air sumur gali terhadap 11 buah sumur gali semuanya tidak memenuhi persyaratan Permenkes Nomor 32 Tahun 2017 tentang Standar Baku Mutu Kesehatan Lingkungan dan Persyaratan Kesehatan Air Untuk Keperluan Higiene Sanitasi yaitu  melebihi batas maksimum 0 CFU/100 ml, dimana hasil pemeriksaan E. coli yaitu berkisar antara 1 – 18 CFU/100 ml.
Disarankan agar masyarakat melakukan perbaikan sarana air sumur gali, memperhatikan sumur yang letaknya dekat dengan sumber pencemar dan melakukan pengolahan air sebelum dipergunakan untuk keperluan rumah tangga atau dikonsumsi.

	Diarrhea disease in 2020 is the highest case in the Barabai Community Health Center working area. The dug well is one of the clean water facilities used by the community in Mandingin Village, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, totaling 22 pieces, in construction some of the dug wells have not met the requirements such as the walls of the wells, the lips of the wells and the floors of the wells and the distance between the dug wells and the source of pollutants is still less than 11 meters. The purpose of this study was to describe the quality of E. coli dug well water on construction and pollutant sources in Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency.
This type of research is descriptive with a cross sectional research design. The population of this research was all dug wells, amounting to 22 units, while the samples for inspection and inspection were 11 wells. The analysis is carried out by observation, sampling and examination of samples. 
The results of sanitation inspection of 11 dug wells or: 2 very high risk level, 7 high risk level and 2 medium risk level. The results of the bacteriological quality examination of dug well water on 11 dug wells all did not meet the requirements of Permenkes Number 32 of 2017 concerning Environmental Health Quality Standards and Water Health Requirements for Sanitary Hygiene Purposes, namely exceeding the maximum limit of 0 CFU / 100 ml, where the results of the examination are E. coli, which ranges from 1 - 18 CFU / 100 ml.
It is recommended that the community make improvements to dug well water facilities, pay attention to wells that are located close to polluting sources and carry out water treatment before it is used for household needs or for consumption.
