ABSTRAK PENGARUH EKSTRAK KLOROFORM RIMPANG LENGKUAS MERAH (Alpinia Purpurata (Vieill.) K. Sch) TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN JAMUR Trichophyton rubrum Peneliti: Nur Asy Syifa Azizah Pembimbing: Anny Thuraidah, Ratih Dewi Dwiyanti Dermatofitosis merupakan salah satu agen penyebab infeksi jamur pada kulit superfisial dan penyebab paling umum dari penyakit kulit di dunia. Trichophyton rubrum merupakan agen penyebab dermatofitosis antropofilik paling sering ditemukan di seluruh dunia. 24,6% penduduk semua umur di Indonesia telah memanfaatkan tanaman obat keluarga salah satunya penggunaan tanaman obat lengkuas merah (Alpinia purpurata (Vieill.) K. Sch). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh ekstrak kloroform rimpang lengkuas merah terhadap pertumbuhan jamur Trichophyton rubrum. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian True Experiment dengan rancangan Posttest Only With Control Group Design yang terdiri atas 8 perlakuan yakni kontrol positif, kontrol ekstrak, 0 mg/mL (kontrol negatif), 20 mg/mL, 30 mg/mL, 40 mg/mL, 50 mg/mL, dan 60 mg/mL ekstrak kloforom rimpang lengkuas merah dengan 3 kali pengulangan. Uji aktivitas antijamur dilakukan dengan menggunakan penentuan Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM), Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimum (KBM), dan Uji Bioautografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak kloroform rimpang lengkuas merah pada Uji Bioautografi Agar Overlay terdapat zona hambatan terhadap pertumbuhan jamur Trichophyton rubrum, hasil penentuan KHM dan KBM berturut-turut pada konsentrasi 20 mg/mL dan 40 mg/mL. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini terdapat pengaruh ekstrak kloroform rimpang lengkuas merah terhadap pertumbuhan jamur Trichophyton rubrum. Penelitian ini dapat dilanjutkan dengan mengetahui lebih spesifik mengenai senyawa bioaktif dari rimpang lengkuas merah yang memiliki aktivitas antijamur terhadap Trichophyton rubrum. Trichophyton rubrum is the most common causative agent for anthropophilic dermatophytosis worldwide. 24.6% of the population of all ages in Indonesia have used family medicinal plants, one of which is the use of the red galangal medicinal plant (Alpinia purpurata (Vieill.) K. Sch). This study aims to determine the effect of chloroform extract of red galangal rhizome on the growth of Trichophyton rubrum. This study is a True Experiment study with a Posttest Only With Control Group Design which consists of 8 treatments, namely positive control, extract control, 0 mg/mL (negative control), 20 mg/mL, 30 mg/mL, 40 mg/mL, 50 mg/mL, and 60 mg/mL of red galangal rhizome chloforom extract with 3 repetitions. The antifungal activity test was carried out using the determination of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC), Minimum Killing Concentration (MKC), and Bioautography Test. The results showed that the chloroform extract of the red galangal rhizome in the Bioautography Test for the Agar Overlay, there was a zone of inhibition against Trichophyton rubrum, the results of the determination of MIC and MKC respectively at a concentration of 20 mg/mL and 40 mg/mL. The conclusion of the results of this study is that the chloroform extract of red galangal rhizome has an effect on the Trichophyton rubrum. This research can be continued by knowing more specifically about the bioactive compounds of the red galangal rhizome which have antifungal activity against Trichophyton rubrum.
